West Virginia's own, @weevilstrio , will be getting the grooves started to kick off music on Friday 8/28! Emerging out of a friendship forged by fiddling, The Weevils harness the power of the song. Each of them songwriters in their own right, their collaborative arrangements of twin (and sometimes triple) fiddles and tight vocal harmonies weave an intricate tapestry. You’ll sometimes hear them perform a traditional bluegrass or old-time number for good measure! The Weevils are Gray Buchanan, Mary Linscheid, and Claire Silbernagel. #TheWeevils #OldTime #Folk #Bluegrass #Appalachia

I had a great time doing the photography for the Flood Relief Concert last night, hosted by @123pleasant and the @co.op.wv If you couldn’t make it and still want to hep, we will still take donations and will need volunteers power, so just follow up. I gave the organizers all the photos, but I wanted to share some of my favorites. If you think I took photos of you and you want a copy, let me know! I’ll get those to you. #morgantownwv #livemusic #westvirginia #mutualaid #morgantown

TONIGHT! This past month saw high waters which devastated homes and took the lives of two people in Lewis and Upshur counties. The unprecedented damage caused by these floods will take many years and many thousands of dollars to repair. Even still, these past few weeks have also shown a determined community-led flood response movement growing across our state. West Virginians of every background have rallied around our shared sense of community in support of our neighbors in Lewis and Upshur counties in this vulnerable time. Join us tonight, August 12th @123pleasant and @co.op.wv for a flood relief fundraising event. Doors at 6:00PM. This concert is comprised of West Virginian artists of many styles and mediums, including: • @exitangles • @beckslipshultz • @weevilstrio • @stiffupperlipwv As well as poetry and songwriter performances. More information can be found on slide (ii). Additionally, @co.op.wv will host an art market and silent auction with proceeds supporting flood relief efforts. We are also excited to announce drink and food specials brought to you by @moonflowerhemp @bcmacwv. More info can be found on slides (iii, iv). All profits will go to support flood relief efforts. Monetary donations will be collected at the door. We recommend a $10 donation, however we stress that this event is free to enter. All donations collected at this event will be used to support the Buckhannon Upshur Rotary Flood Relief Fund, as well as to provide volunteer flood responders with PPE as they continue to muck-out homes in Lewis and Upshur counties. See slide (v) or visit the links in the bio @iiitommythompson for more information about how to donate to the Buckhannon Upshur Rotary Flood Relief Fund or to volunteer for flood response efforts in Lewis and Upshur counties. This event is artist-led and locally organized. Poster design by @emmabirdz and @solspiritdeces (iv). Photography by @presentpurpose (i, ii) and @s.tatum.photography (v)

I had a great time at the Tiny Desk Concert hosted at @mgtnlibrary last night! What a delight to get to see all of these amazing artists at work—and I’m including the videographers in that, too. :) I also thought the little “make your own guitar pick necklace” station was a lot of fun! Fantastic believe Alex Finzel told me I would never be a senator 😉 #morgantown #morgantownwv #library #folkmusic #concert
