After six amazing years, I've officially traded a van for an apartment in the name of grad school! My gear was also able to move out of the gear bin and onto a gear wall to help me daydream while I work at my desk @weighmyrack

2026 Friday Recap 🔥 Part 1
(That’s right, it’s a day so full of festivities it needs two posts.🤯)

First, we fueled up and stretched out to get ourselves ready for the day. ☀️

Next, we got after it at the crags and in town, leveling up our skills in clinics taught by the pros. 💪

Then, we stacked, bucked, and spiked our way to winning swag from our fave brands & businesses at the Trade Fair. 🎪

And the day wasn’t even over yet...

Fun afternoon trad climbing at Morlais quarry.

Climbing was pretty easy, gear placements were a lot more tricky. Some routes felt a lot more like soloing than trad climbing.

From the bluffs of Jamestown Crag to the depths of the Ozarks.

Since 2013, we’ve taken safety seriously at Jamestown - from major rebolting projects across The Crag, to personal investment in rescue equipment and training.

Through our partnership with NOMADS Cave & Cliff Rescue, we’re fortunate to have a small, well-equipped group of adventurers - friends who have invested countless hours annually in training, locally, and with some of the finest folks in the world at NCRC in Texas, specializing in cave and cliff rescue.

This year, a Search & Rescue Award from @rockytalkies helped us make a major upgrade to our rescue cache - including a twin-tension system built around two CMC CLUTCHes, improved communications, and an AWAH Z3 drill-powered pulley for fast, small-party assisted rescues.

Nearly all JCF dollars go directly back into Jamestown - maintaining, improving and protecting the property while keeping access free. But being good stewards of this place also means being prepared when things don’t go according to plan.

King of the Crag is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and your support makes all of this possible.

Professionally, we put the “party” in rescue party - when you need us, we’ll be there.🤘

If you have to move to stay alive, me too. I don’t know how you feel it, but to me it’s a firm pull in my chest. When I ignore it, that pull twists into a fist squeezing against my heart.

My seasons are so compressed and tenuous now. But that tug in my solar plexus is still pulling. It’s always been there, and it always will be. I hope you can move to whatever pulls you today.

Jordan brought the fire 🔥 for an epic private mentor day covering Intro to Trad and Multipitch systems.

After running through ground school, we put it all to the test by taking it high off the deck on the Sandstone Buttress. After four stellar pitches, she topped the climb for us and belayed me over the lip.

Fueling and nutrition are a huge part of what we do for our clients, because we believe if you’re properly fueled you’ll learn more, perform better, and have way more fun! In an homage to our alpine roots 🇫🇷 , we handed off a #tourdefeed musette about halfway up the wall. Fueling up mid-stance keeps the stoke high and the systems running smooth. 🤌

Ready to swap the flat ground for the sharp end? Whether you want to learn to plug gear, dial in your multi-pitch transitions, learn the dark arts 🧙‍♂️ , or push your grade, DM here to book a private mentor day with Flowstate Backcountry!

Here is an example of what we can cover in a day with someone who’s stoked on skills🔥
