OK WE'VE BEEN QUIET OVAH HERE but we're excited to present: Nelson One Act Play Festival: Writer / Director / Actor Applications!

Really Cool Productions along with the Columbia Kootenay Cultural Alliance presents The Nelson One Act Play Festival! 8 Writers. 4 Directors. 8 - 15 Actors. 8 new plays. One night. (ohhhh mama!)

We're bringing local Writers, Directors and Actors together to develop and perform eight original works at the Capitol Theatre in Nelson, BC on Wednesday, December 9, 2026.

Applications are open to emerging and experienced artists based in the Columbia Basin. You can apply as a Writer, Actor, Director, or any combination of the three.

Selected artists receive a share of festival ticket revenue.

Applications close Friday, October 23, 2026. Applicants will hear back the week after.

Allie Entwistle and Michelle Hart take on the ultimate opponent…….the audience?!?

In this fast, chaotic, one hour comedy show, it’s performers vs. crowd. Expect high energy improv, audience participation, and Taskmaster (NOT AFFILIATED) style challenges that put everything on the line???

If Allie and Michelle win, they get to keep their day jobs and get to perform a dance for the audience.

If the audience wins, the duo will stay on stage and personally compliment every single person in the room.

Michelle Hart and Allie Entwistle have been performing sketch comedy for over a decade. Their credits include Just For Laughs Vancouver, The Second City, Toronto Sketch Fest, the Portland Sketch Comedy Festival, and MSC Cruise Lines.

32 - LIFE HAS BEEN VERY FULL AND I LIKE IT THAT WAY.

I think in the last year I have never worked harder, loved harder or had as much joie de vivre as I do now. Thank you to anyone who has ever hired me, any friend that’s gone for an afternoon hang, every unexpected phone call, every “hey is this a good bit?”, every full roulette table.

For me, you make this life wonderful. I think if I was to talk to myself at 22 and tell him about what we’re up to now he’d say, “But how good are your riffs in your scenes?”
