MOVIE REVIEW Looky-Loo: Part II NR - 4 out of 5 stars Genre: Horror, Thriller Year: 2026 Runtime: 1h 20m Director: Jason Zink Writer: Nolan Mihail Cast: Kansas Bowling, Jessa Jupiter Flux, Julie Kashmanian, Kali Malia Michaels, Siane Wilson Where to Watch: world premiere of Parts I and II playing as a double feature at Nightmares Film Festival on October 18 RAVING REVIEW: Watching LOOKY-LOO and LOOKY-LOO: PART II back-to-back for my first experience with Jason Zink's strange little nightmare made the difference between them immediately clear. The first movie almost dares you to lose patience, locking the audience behind the eyes of a voyeur whose camera gradually becomes less of a hobby and more of a weapon. PART II doesn't abandon that uncomfortable simplicity, but it finally gives the idea somewhere bigger to go. That's important because LOOKY-LOO is deliberately limited. Long stretches pass watching, wandering, stalking, and waiting as Zink commits completely to the killer's perspective. It's effective precisely because the camera never provides the distance horror normally offers, though at times its repetition worked against the tension. By the end, however, the movie had established something much more interesting than another anonymous killer with a camera. This guy thinks he's making art. PART II understands that distinction and runs with it. The murders aren't simply private acts anymore because the first film has escaped into the world, circulated online, and turned its unidentified creator into a grotesque celebrity. News reports discuss him. People argue about him. Internet detectives obsess over his footage. His victims have become content, while the killer discovers that an audience is waiting for whatever he decides to make next. That shift gives Nolan Mihail's screenplay a nastier edge without forcing the killer to explain himself. He remains largely unknowable, and keeping him that way is the right decision. What changes is his awareness of the people watching... My full review on my Letterboxd and www.OHMR.us #OverlyHonestReviews #lookyloo #lookyloopart2

We are almost arriving to Block 8 of #UFF24Hr26 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ here's a glimpse of what's to come! Looky-Loo Part 2 Continuing where the first film left off, the looky-loo killerโ€™s newfound infamy encourages him to push his crimes to further extremes as he documents his sadistic ventures, adding a new metatextual element to the film. ๐Ÿ“ผ Greeley's Creamies A mysterious snack cake brand leads its victims into a deadly parallel world if they stop consuming it. ๐Ÿ“ผ Rasterflesh Rasterflesh is a tech and cosmic horror alternate reality game (ARG) created by writer and director Alex Hera ๐Ÿ“ผ 119.MP4 A stand-up comedian who goes to a hotel for a writerโ€™s retreat comes to realize her room is haunted. This is the footage that was left behind. ๐Ÿ“ผ Mommy Knows Best A schoolteacher starts a YouTube channel about pregnancy. ๐Ÿ“ผ Mimics Mimics is a short, found footage, horror film about two influencer sisters who move to the woods to get away from it all. But what finds them is a following like no other. ๐Ÿ“ผ Rot Log Travis Zariwny plays a man who isolates himself inside a shared living space after noticing subtle signs of environmental decay โ€” softening wood, spreading moisture, structural instability. Determined to approach the anomaly scientifically, he begins recording daily โ€œrot logs,โ€ documenting what he believes is a creeping biological intrusion. #UFFVirtual #FilmFestival #HorrorMovies #InWorldCamera

Don't miss the North Carolina Premiere of the slasher sequel LOOKY-LOO PART 2, playing Friday, Oct. 23, as an Official Selection at the Halloween International Film Festival 2026! From director and HIFF alum Jason Zink (Straight Edge Kegger), in the feature film, "faceless killer who shocked the world with his debut returns with even grander ambitions. After his first film goes viral, the Looky-loo killer sets out to create a chillingly personal documentary starring his next victims. He stalks, films, and murders them, capturing their lives and deaths in excruciating detail. As public fascination grows and true-crime fans become disturbingly enthralled, he targets an aspiring filmmaker who may be his most compelling subject yet. But with rising notoriety comes greater risk, and completing his twisted masterpiece without being caught may be his toughest challenge." The film stars indie genre favorites @kansasbowling and @jessaflux, both of whom you can also see in THE BARN PART III, screening later that same night at the festival! JOIN US for the ultimate celebration of horror and film on the Outer Banks at our 7th Halloween Film Festival, Oct. 23-24 at Roanoke Island Festival Park on Halloween Island (Outer Banks, NC). Tickets are on sale now, linked in our bio. ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽž๐ŸŽƒ
