Oakley junior Alexa Weiser has surpassed 1,000 career kills, adding another impressive milestone to an already outstanding high school career.

Weiser has established herself as one of the top all-around players in Class 2A, totaling 1,039 career kills, 733 digs, 704 assists, 170 aces and 112 blocks. Even more impressive, she is only a junior.

A KVA Second Team Class 2A All-State selection as a sophomore last season, Weiser has helped lead Oakley to a 27-7 record this fall. Her success extends well beyond the volleyball court. Weiser is also one of Kansas’ top multi-sport athletes, winning back-to-back Class 2A state championships in the triple jump while setting school records in both the long jump and triple jump.

An incredible résumé for the Oakley standout with another full year of high school athletics still ahead of her. #sportsinkansas

Sports in Kansas Volleyball Player to Watch: Alexa Weiser, Oakley, Jr. S/OH

Alexa Weiser enters her junior season as one of the top all-around players in Class 2A after helping Oakley post a 38-5 record and reach the state tournament for the second straight season. The 5-foot-9 setter/outside hitter earned unanimous First Team Mid-Continent League honors, KVA Class 2A Second Team All-State recognition and a spot on the Class 2A State All-Tournament Team following a standout sophomore campaign.

Weiser stuffed the stat sheet with 386 kills, 312 assists, 252 digs, 65 aces and 33 blocks while hitting .280, proving she can impact the match in every facet. She has also established herself as one of Kansas’ top multi-sport athletes, winning back-to-back Class 2A state championships in the triple jump while setting school records in both the long jump and triple jump and breaking the Mid-Continent League record in the triple jump.

With valuable postseason experience returning, Weiser believes Oakley is ready to take another step this fall. “I’m excited to see what our team can accomplish this season and how we can push each other to improve every day,” Weiser said. “After making it to state the past two years, we’re motivated to build on that experience, compete at a high level and make this season our best one yet!” With another talented group returning to the court, Weiser will once again be one of the key players to watch as Oakley looks to make another deep postseason run. #sportsinkansas
