Brooklyn-based non-profit empowering the next generation of welders and metal fabricators through a project-based paid apprenticeship program.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What does it take to build a career in the green economy? And how do we make sure more Brooklynites get the chance?

That’s what brought hundreds of young Brooklynites, workforce leaders, and community organizations together at our Brooklyn Energy Careers Summit at @nyutandon.

From conversations about breaking into the industry to hearing from a @welderunderground graduate who’s now putting his skills to work, the night was all about connecting Brooklyn talent with real opportunities.

Through our Brooklyn Energy Initiative, we've partnered with @nationalgrid and the National Grid Foundation to invest $700K in 14 Brooklyn nonprofits expanding access to energy careers and helping neighbors lower their energy costs.

Hear from some of the people building that future, right here in Brooklyn. 🎤

Big thanks to the National Grid Foundation for making this work possible, @nyutandon for hosting us, and all the local organizations helping Brooklynites get their foot in the door. 💙

Building a more unified city means investing in the people who literally help hold it together.

That’s why the Council is working with the @welderunderground in Brooklyn to fund a new apprenticeship program for young adults seeking careers in welding and metal fabrication.

#Bronx appreciation post (one of many to come!). *Rappin’ Max Robot* is a gigantic (see bike for scale) steel sculpture by @welderunderground at the @thhmuseum

I took this at a @nycbikeandbrew ride on 10/1/24! Where do you ride in the Bronx? Is Hip Hop your jam? Do you know what Olympic sport this artwork is dedicated to? We’ve put in so many miles here and want to hear your BX #bikenyc stories…

Bike: Ace (Spades) single-speed belt drive by @ridepriority. Music: *South Bronx* by Boogie Down Productions.

Earlier today, myself along with my colleagues @cmshanelth and @cmsandynurse visited Welder Underground, a local non-profit in D34 that provides young adults with the manual competency, soft skills, experience, and certifications needed to excel in the welding and metal fabrication industry.

As a strong supporter of the local manufacturing economies in my district, I’m thrilled about initiatives like Welder Underground that advance the skills of young people from emerging communities throughout the country.

One from the archives… and still one of our favourites. 😂🛁

When @welderunderground underground found a whole new setting for their Swift-Cut… 🫧😉

Who knew CNC cutting could be quite so relaxing?

It’s happening!!!! The Waters Weaver has been built!

None of this would have been possible without our maestro, sculptor @steelstatue. Jack guided Zaire and me through the welding process, led the fabrication, and, with his extraordinary skill and vision, brought the sculpture to life. We are incredibly grateful to have learned from him and to now stand beside what we created together.

A heartfelt thank you to @welderunderground for your generosity, support, and belief in this project.

Now we’re ready to continue collecting plastic and begin our community weaving workshops in October. Follow along as The Waters Weaver continues to grow!

Precision starts long before the final install.

Our fabrication team is building a custom stainless steel backing plate for a Humphree system, taking it from raw material through fit-up and welding right here at All Points Boats.

This is the kind of work that happens every day behind the scenes—custom solutions, skilled hands, and attention to the details that make the finished product work.

Have a custom project that needs to be built? Let’s talk.

This is what fabrication looks like before the finished product.

Our welders are bringing a series of custom steel arches to life for an ongoing construction project — fitting, welding, grinding, and building each section right here in our Fort Lauderdale shop. 🔥

From the first piece of steel to the final assembly, this is the work behind the work.
