HELLO ♡ I’VE MADE A LITTLE HOME FOR DELIGHT.

For the past four-and-a-half years, I’ve been keeping a monthly List of Delight - tiny things that have delighted me, amid the ups and downs of life.

Cold grass under bare feet. Morning coffee + birdsong. The feel of a shiny conker. The smell of freshly washed bedding. Warm toasty socks from the radiator.

Tiny golden moments I might have missed. I started writing them down because I wanted to remember them. But somewhere along the way, I realised something else was happening.

The more I noticed delight, the more delight I seemed to notice.

So I’ve made a little home for it.

Notes of Delight. ♡ Or NODs for short.

A few words that say:

This. Yes! This delighted me.

In a world constantly telling us what to fear, hate, fix, buy and worry about, Notes of Delight is a little invitation to look up, look around and notice what's good. To collect it. Savour it. Share it. And put a little more delight back into the world.

Not because life is always lovely. It isn’t. Life is often difficult, messy, heart-breaking and uncertain.

But difficulty isn’t all there is.

This is here too.

➡️ Tomorrow, 1 September, I’m beginning 30 DAYS OF DELIGHT and I’d love you to join me.

For 30 days, we’re going to collect just one NOD - Note of Delight - each day.

No lengthy journaling. No prescribed thing you’re supposed to find. No right or wrong kind of delight.

Just go about your life and notice tiny glimmers; things that delight you. Then note it down. Savour it for a moment. And, if you’d like to, share it (then tag @notesofdelight to spread the delight and inspire others to notice what delights them too).

☀️ I've made a FREE 30 Days of Deligh collector to help you collect yours. You can join via the link in my bio and get a free printable listing things that might cause delight and a space to jot your NODs down.

And, from tomorrow, I’ll be here every day with a little reminder to look up, look around, notice and note.

I’ll be collecting mine alongside you too.

So what’s delighted you today? ♡

If you want to spread some delight and support my new little project, please share 🫶

Today was a real privilege, (early birthday pressie) getting to spend a whole entire Monday with one of my favourite authors @clover.stroud and other amazing and interesting women on Clover's memoir writing and creative transformation retreat day at @berryfarmcotswolds 🙏❤️

We got stuck straight in with heart-cracking writing prompts, emboldening exercises and poetry-inspired creative sessions. It was enlightening, courageous and inspirational.

Thank you @clover.stroud and all who came, wrote and shared. Felt honoured to hear and be heard. What incredible women, lives and stories of humanity🙏🫶

A Sunny Tuesday walk and then later this beauty got delivered! I’ve been listening to @bethkempton on audible but it’s so good I wanted the hardback copy too so that I could see the Write Now tasks infront of me!

And if I ever had to create my own book cover it wouldn’t be far off from this, possibly my fave book cover ever as well as Tree Glee by @wellbeingauthor . My favourite colours all on one cover! A gorgeous design.

Last night we were talking about colour palettes in my monthly writing club, inspired by Beth’s book we talked about the colour palettes of our lives from childhood to now and what we would like ours to be in the future, I think I will be listening to some fascinating stories from my writers next time!

Fancy joining in? The next one is Monday the 7th of October, DM me for all the details 🙂

And Beth thank you for creating the most stunning book, it’s inspiring me in so many ways #fearlesswriter #beautifulbooks
