Earlier this summer, I was able to spend a week at @Chateau_Charente in Southwest France for a painting retreat that was truly the experience of a lifetime. The Chateau was absolutely beautiful with every detail so thoughtfully and elegantly arranged. The entire time was extraordinary.

Our instructor, English artist Clare Bowen, was beyond wonderful. She challenged us, taught us so much, and pushed us artistically in ways that were both exciting and (at times!) sooo humbling. It was definitely not an easy week, but I came away inspired, grateful, and hopeful that I’ve learned some things that will make me a better painter.
So happy to have shared this adventure with my friend Kelley from @eventstudio and a group of fantastic painters. Plein air isn’t for sissies😆 but Let’s go again!

Last afternoon I attempted a part of the Chateau. Buildings are not my thing, but I needed to push myself. Absolutely the best week @chateau_charente with Emma and Rob and the brilliant @clarebowenartist and to enjoy it all with my buddy @wellspring_painting
