What better day to release a documentary that addresses one of the many experiences of women than on International Women’s Day?

Earlier in the year, I teamed up with my friend @iamizuoba to tell a story dear to my heart.

I used to work in an environment where I was constantly told “what to look like” and “what to dress like”. I remember being shouted at for not wearing makeup and for rocking my natural hair. It was a very confusing period and even though no harm was meant, my self esteem was greatly affected by this experience. This experience gave birth to this documentary, “The Way We Are”. It is my hope that every woman who sees The Way We Are feels empowered and confident in how they look, in The Way They Are.
