*** WEP’s The Little Mermaid ***

“I left feeling shell shocked…in the best way… brilliant”

I went along to see @wep_performance_co amateur production of The Little Mermaid last night and was completely in awe of the talent on AND off the stage.

Keeping the story traditional with some slight (clever) changes, WEP have smashed it out of the bag.

The Little Mermaid isn’t an easy show to do, how do you create an underwater scene one minute and an on land one the next without making it too difficult? Well WEP have done it so well. I especially loved the use of the “fish” to create that “under the sea” effect and the floating “thingymabobs” (well done ensemble)

Each person on the stage deserves a shout out as they were all incredible but a few I have to mention are…

Grace Fawcett as Ariel, a beautiful voice and fantastic stage presence.

Leo Moran as Prince Eric, he has the swoon of a prince and the voice to match.

Cameron Laidler as Sebastian, hilarious and multi talented.

Tallulah Wyatt as Scuttle, absolutely amazing. It’s not easy to do accents but to do a well known seagulls accent so well… bravo!

I could really go on forever about every talented soul on that stage but my absolute star of the show… Olivia Kelly as Ursula. At only 16 years old, she has blown me away. I was genuinely shocked to learn her age, she has everything. The voice, the commandment of the stage and the acting… she is going to go very far.

Everything was so well done and I thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s a great show to see this weekend.

I also must mention how good the costumes are… each one so well thought out and excellently executed, well done Mairi 😉.

Bravo @wep_performance_co, you guys smashed it!

Tonight these 4 amazing children have their opening night @leedsplayhouse in OLIVER

For some of these young performers this is their first professional credit, and I could just burst with pride.

I will continue as a teacher and agent to push the talent of the North East to be seen and rewarded for their hard work and talent that they have to offer and to make contracts work for them.

Thank you dearly to @kestonandkeston who I am proud to have a strong working relationship with who have fully supported me and these clients in this process. ( as they have with ALL children )

Have an amazing opening night and I’ll see you all next week.
