With the second season of Women’s Elite Ruby @womenseliterugby behind her, the Boston Banshees’ @wer_banshees Team Manager and Community Engagement Coordinator dives into building the culture around a sport that hasn’t quite yet made it into the mainstream sports conversation. Sarah “Sharkie” Harkness @the_sharkness takes us through her creative approach to developing rugby as a community sport, working with Boston-based organizations, and the differences between the international and national games. The Banshees may have lost by a close call to the New York Exiles this season, but they’re gearing up for the next big scrum: making women’s rugby a lifestyle. 🏉 ☘️ Read the full story “Sharkie Harkness: Sophomore Scrum” online at www.across-the-line.com Written by: Danny Cummins @the.real.dirty.dan Photography Courtesy Of: Sarah “Sharkie” Harkness @the_sharkness | Photography Credits (in order): Lynn Kleyer, Al Davey @als.photos96 , Greg Sabin gsabin, Greg Sabin gsabin, Corey Sullivan Graphics by: Evelyn Harding @evhardingdsgn Social Design by: Sara Shohoud @2coolcinema 📕Subscribe to our Substack📕 acrossthelinemedia.substack.com Across The Line Media Not What. WELCOME BACK TO SEASON TWO 🎙️📸 The Sideline Snapshot is back and things look a little different around here. This season, we’ve got a new studio, a new co-host (hi, Kevin!), new teams to talk about, a brand-new website, and so much more we can’t wait to share with you. What started as an idea to create a place dedicated to covering Boston women’s sports has grown into something bigger than we ever expected and it feels like we’re only getting started. Season 2, Episode 1 is OUT NOW. 🎧 Meet the people behind the Sideline, check out the new website, and come along for everything we have planned this season. We seriously can’t wait to see where this goes next.
