WERK MPLS!!!!!!

this was a really cool time! my first time performing in the cities and im so pleased with how it went :) thank you to all the producers, the cast for making me feel super welcome backstage, and @dec.reme for insisting that i sign up!! also thank you @hedathrasher for these absolutely fabulous photos!! i feel like i could launch a thousand ships <<3

i’ve done my emerald city sequence number twice now, and both times the reveals have gone a little awry (notice i forgot to take my green scarf off for the red outfit 😭😭). that can only mean 3rd times the charm!! it’s all a matter of where i will perform it next :)

thanks everyone for following along with me as i enmesh myself into this wonderful world of gender nonsense!!!

yours faithfully,

Regicide

My recent Manëskin mix performance ✌🏻 I love Zitti E Buoni and it’s always fun getting to groove to this mix and end on such a high note🤘🏻 This was my second number at Werk on 9/17! I signed up with my friends and it was a great time - I’m so grateful to folks for coming out and just cheering us all on, this was just a lot of fun, and I was feeling myself✨ I can’t begin to tell you how validating this night was for me and my art, my heart was overflowing with love :) I’m so so grateful for the people I’ve found myself surrounded by. I feel encouraged and seen and it’s overwhelming, but I will continue to prove all these kind words right by getting better and being myself 🫶🏻 this is something important to me, and my friends have made it all that more special 🫂

Werk @thesaloonmn hosted by @dec.reme was probably the funnest Thursday night I’ve had in ages. While at its surface Werk is an open stage drag competition, if you look just under that you’ll find a loving celebration of queer nightlife in the twin cities.

If you haven’t found your way to this weekly competition yet, consider it required. The stage calls all types of performers, and the seats call all lovers of art, culture, and fun.

I don’t think I’ve ever walked away from a weeknight show thinking about how much I can’t wait to go back.

I tried my best to include as many photos of everyone as possible, if you see yourself, feel free to tag yourself.

Huge thanks to @dec.reme for inviting me to shoot. Shoutout to the top three @tom.foolerydrag, @tiffanystantrum, and of course the nights winner @mali_knights

My first time performing a ballad and it was a fun challenge 💓 I wanted to channel my energy into moving slowly and intentionally, despite the nerves of feeling so exposed. 😮‍💨 I can’t wait to do it again - I love drag 🥹 Thanks for having me, @werk.mpls 🙏🏻

🎥 @itsmorticia.drag (thank you!!)

As we all know, our city is currently occupied by ICE. They are actively tearing apart families, threatening our community, and murdering our neighbors in broad daylight. We entertainers at Hot Pink have been struggling with how we can show up for the community in a safe way, while still bringing world-class entertainment to you every week.

So here’s what we’ve been doing. During every show now through the month of February, we will be collecting donations to disperse to our neighbors affected by the current occupation of ICE. We are asking for household supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, hygiene supplies, non-perishable food items, school supplies, and medicinal supplies. We acknowledge that times are tough all around, but if you are able, we are also accepting cash donations, both physical and digital. When the resources are available, we will also be handing out whistles. We know what to use those for.

The donations we receive will be divided between Twin Cities Leather, who is using their retail space as a community hub and distribution point, and to the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee, an all-volunteer, grassroots, multiracial, and multinational immigrant rights mass-movement organization.

The times we are living through are trying. But if there’s anything this community knows, it’s this: don’t fuck with Minneapolis. We show up and show out to take care of our neighbors, regardless of circumstance. We at Hot Pink are going to do what we can with the platform we have to do just that. So if you can, we ask that you do the same with whatever resources you have. We hope that we can bring you some joy and light while you are watching our shows. We are so thankful for your support of our community, and us here at Hot Pink.
