Our garden has truly changed the way we live — not just how our home looks, but how we spend our time. I love starting my mornings with a coffee outside just as much as I love looking out at the greenery from the sofa.

@wernerundangerer brought my abstract and wild vision into a garden design exactly as I imagined it — light and effortless, lush and natural, yet thoughtfully divided into zones for entertaining, growing vegetables and simply being.

And @gruener_daumen_karlsruhe brought it all to life 🙃🙌🏼🙌🏼.

(Unpaid ad - just because I really love what they do!)

Buuuut none of us expected it to look this beautiful after just six months 💚💚💚🙃.

Maybe next time you’ll get to enjoy my strong and perfectly refined German accent 😉. Here are the questions and answers from the Q&A — let me know in the comments if there’s anything else you’d like to know!

I asked @wernerundangerer for their top 5 tips on how to design a thoughtful garden—and here’s what they shared 💘:

1- Panoramic windows are a beautiful way to connect your home with nature. Bring your plants right up to the glass to blur the boundary between indoors and outdoors.

2- Even the smallest garden can feel more spacious when divided into distinct zones. Creating garden rooms adds structure, depth, and a sense of discovery.

3- Add multiple seating areas to experience the garden from different angles—offering little moments of calm throughout the day.

4- Plant multi-stemmed umbrella trees in the center of the garden to bring height, rhythm, and a layered atmosphere.

5- Choose regional materials to ground your garden in its surroundings—for example, use locally sourced gravel for your pathways.
