My heart is broken, and it pains me so much to share the news of my dad’s passing.

My dad had a heart of gold. His smile, his kindness, his laughter, and his joyful spirit were unmatched, touching the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He wasn’t just an incredible husband to my mom for 51 years and an amazing dad to Bree, Matt, and me.. he was everyone’s second dad and greatest friend.

Whether it was cheering me on at games and competitions, fundraising for Nationals, or giving me and my friends rides to and from high school, downtown, dances, or college, he was always there. He showed up without hesitation. He was my hero, my biggest cheerleader, and my greatest source of unconditional love and support.

For more than a decade, he courageously battled Parkinson’s disease, fighting with strength until the very end. Through it all, he never lost the warmth that defined him. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, surrounded by his family.

I will forever be grateful that he chose me as his daughter. He taught me what it truly means to love and care for the people around you, and I hope he knew just how deeply he was loved and cared for in return. If I had the chance to choose my father, I would choose him in every lifetime.

We love you so much, Dad, and we’ll carry your enormous spirit with us forever. You can rest easy now. 🤍
