NEW TUNE TOMORROW—ANOTHER CHANCE…

Over the past few years, I’ve had some incredible creative opportunities—mainly working with Luthier Abraham Ortega Guitars and doing sound design for a true crime podcast, called UNNATURAL CAUSES. Nearly all the music I’ve worked on in the past few years has come from one of these beautiful LAO Guitars, including the music for the podcast and a song I was able to write for my good friend KC. Her’s is a beautiful story that has profoundly inspired me. Truthfully I’m always a bit apprehensive when it comes to sharing songs that pull from the experiences of other people, but I’ve had some really sweet experiences in the past few years that have made me feel like it almost always produces a net-positive into the world. Creating the music for UNNATURAL CAUSES was one of the most complex creative pursuits of my life— in summary, the podcast investigated a tragic and horrific story about a serial killer who preyed on people living in senior living facilities in DFW, TX. My pals Charlie and Wes investigated the case and wrote about it in Texas newspaper for years until finally the killer was found and charged. Ultimately, the exposure on the story has affected change and new bills and laws could potentially be put in place that would make senior living facilities safer… I think this is something I’ve always yearned for… Hmmm— to create things that can elicit light and change and bring more goodness into the world. I don’t perform or release music as much as I’d like to, but I hope I can stay on this path and trajectory.

I’m excited to release ANOTHER CHANCE tomorrow and keep finding ways to share more tunes. *The song in this video is NOT ANOTHER CHANCE, it’s a song called THE SAME RESOLVE, and I’m playing it on my LAO Guitar.

You can see El Capitan standing proudly for miles and miles at the edge of the Guadalupe Mountain range. It’s one of my favorite natural Texas landmarks.
