We’ve been letting Kieran try out virtual violin 🎻 lessons with @westamadeus , a New York based music studio offering violin and piano lessons by Juilliard graduates. They offer lessons for all skill levels and ages, both kids and adults. You just need your own violin or keyboard/ piano for these virtual classes.

While Kieran has very basic violin lessons as part of his curriculum in preschool, we’ve been exploring continuing violin lessons for him after he graduates from preschool. So these virtual violin lessons are a great way to check his interest. So far, Kieran has been pretty receptive. Thanks to Teacher Leerone who has been really patient and encouraging, and shared with him some really great tips to help improve his violin posture.

These virtual lessons are also helpful for us as parents for a few reasons:

1) Easy to fit a class into our schedule, can do it from the convenience of home, and we get to watch his progress.

2) Hubby and I know nuts about the violin (so pardon me if I use any terms wrongly), only that it is one of the most difficult string instruments to master, so only a trained teacher would be able to help Kieran with his violin posture and technique. By the way, West Amadeus’ teachers are graduates of Juilliard, which is the most prestigious performing arts school in the world, so you can be assured of the quality of their teachers.

Do check out @westamadeus if you’re looking for virtual violin or piano classes for your child or yourself. It’s not just about their technical expertise, but their rich experience working with or taking lessons from other talented musicians, performing in world renowned venues etc that makes them bring more to the table as teachers. I think that is something worth considering when selecting a music teacher.

Piano lessons has always been on our list to enroll @iamkyanteo into but due to the on-going pandemic over the last 2 years, the plan was shelved off as parents are not allowed to sit in with them !

We are so glad to have virtual piano lesson conducted by @westamadeus, with teachers graduated from @juilliardschool 🎶 Piano lesson that we can have it conducted at home, the opportunity to sit in to observe and learn together with @iamkyanteo !

Same as you, I was having thoughts on how effective it is to have a piano class conducted virtually but @westamadeus convinced and clear my doubts just on tue very first lesson 😀

Teacher Shay is observant and super detailed despite having the lesson conducted via Zoom ! He makes the understanding of theoretical and basic so easy that I can grasp hold of it even thou I'm not musically inclined 😆

We are surprised by how fast Kyan picks the basic up and getting all the steps right as Teacher Shay guides him "by the side".
There's alot of eyes-hand coordination and things to note and I believe it is absolutely important to have a teacher who is encouraging and patience !

If you have been looking out to try out virtual piano class for your kids, I promise you will not be disappointed with the talents from @westamadeus !

And did I mention that despite locating in New York - 12 hrs apart, 9537 miles away, I am pretty amazed by how this virtual piano class can be so effective 💖 Check them out today :)

[2022 June 5] With weak working memory, alot of tasks will be affected as it is challenging to retain the information read.

To learn how to play a piece by heart, can be a challenge for her. There were tears when she struggled and when I lost my patience but I also saw and heard from her "Never mind I'll try again".

This is what I would want to embed in her, don't give up trying even though it takes a longer time than others to master it. All at your own pace and at your best, is all that matters.

She learnt her first piece and hopefully not the last. Not perfect but she agreed that it can be better. Shared her playing at her space @verachua.sg , do drop a note of encouragement if you drop by. This girl thrives on encouragement ❤️

Come on, let’s take a look on what Teacher Shay from @westamadeus say about Kit’s piano learning progress. 🎼🎹🎼

Kit was attending an online piano trial lesson. He got to learnt and improved on the part that he was not familiar with. 👍

Teacher Shay is an experience music teacher with a degree from Juilliard-top conservatory in the world. He taught Kit how to read note on an easy and comfort way, and how to learn repertoire quickly.

Kit had fun during this 45 mins trial lesson. He enjoyed the session. It was a full interaction lesson between both the Teacher Shay and Kit.

Is your child love music? You can sign up a trial lesson for your little one and attend the lesson at your comfort of home.

👦🏻is our 9yo who had the lucky chance to try out 2 virtual piano lessons with @westamadeus Music Studio based in New York.

👩🏻As his mummy who also learned the piano since young, we were initially skeptical on how a virtual lesson can be useful in teaching a restless boy who did not even know how to read the treble clef.

🎶Trust the magical powers of a Julliard Master graduate to make the lesson work wonderfully! Why magic? Not only was 👦🏻 able to read notes by the end of 2 sessions, he was able to
1) read 2 clefs easily
2) play real classical pieces by Beethoven and Bach! Not simply baby singalong tunes
3) Play with 2 hands in the right rhythm … daddy tried to play the same and was it hard for him to even press 2 notes down at the same time. All credits to the proven pedagogue at West Amadeus Music Studios.

🎶Yes! In case you are still wondering, this is the result of just 2 virtual lessons on a piano-naive jumpy, impatient boy.

🎶To be honest, he almost cried at the 4th bar of the prelude but kudos to Teacher Shay who calmly persisted in following through on the goals of the day. Both made it to the end triumphantly!

We have always felt that piano lessons should be conducted face to face to be effective. But after a virtual lesson with Teacher Shay from @westamadeus , it changes our perception.

Ting had a good experience during her 45 minutes with Teacher Shay. Her feedback...Teacher Shay is very patient and clear in his instructions. She is impressed by Teacher Shay's method of teaching which she thinks is effective, he taught her an easier method to overcome the difficult section of the song. He also suggested ways on how she can improve on a piece that Ting is currently practicing.

With 4 kids and their after school activities, I do not have the time or energy to indulge my youngest in any form of music lesson even though I have always harbour the thought of introducing some music lessons to my youngest

I found an alternative via online music lessons with @westamadeus with Teacher Shay

This is my first ever time doing an online music lesson and all the way from the states.

@westamadeus was founded by two graduates of The Juilliard School. From a small studio for piano and violin lessons based in NYC, their program has expanded world-wide thanks to the availability of virtual lessons.

It was also an eye opener for me how music lesson is conducted virtually and across time zone and quality is not compromised.

Teacher Shay can easily spot small C using the wrong finger to press the keys even via zoom and convince me that online music lesson works.

Not only that after the first lesson small C is able to recognise where are the C,D and E on the piano, play 2 tunes and even tried playing with 2 hands. Swipe to see snippets of his first lesson with Teacher Shay.

That is amazing progress for just 1 lesson. Small C is looking forward to next lesson!

Check out @westamadeus and have your music lessons in the comfort of your home.
