THE ARTIST IS THE ARTWORK
A Performance Piece for an Audience of One

What if being an artist is about more than making and selling artwork?

Join us at Alameda Gallery & Collective for an informal conversation and artist mixer with John Boychuk, artist, public artist and Strategic Advisor — about building a creative life beyond the traditional studio-to-gallery path.

We’ll talk about finding opportunities in unexpected places, getting involved in your community, turning experience into credibility, making connections, and building not just a portfolio of things you’ve made, but a portfolio of things you’ve made happen.

This isn’t a seminar about personal branding or how to sell more art. It’s a conversation about creative freedom, community, relationships and the wonderfully weird zigzag that an artist’s life can take.

Come with questions. Meet other artists. Share what you’re working on. Maybe find someone you should be working with

Join us tonight! I’m proud to be donating artwork to support the West End Arts District and its annual fundraising efforts. As an artist and longtime believer in the importance of a thriving local arts community, I love being able to give back through my work and participation!

Chris and the kiddo collaborated on a painting for a @westendartsdistrict fundraiser! Click on the link in my bio to bid or to get a ticket to the event. 🦊 The piece is titled “Foxes of the Below” and features a whole underground world of fox people who receive arms from their queen when they get to the magical lower level. Zoom in to see more detail! 🦊 Background painting by Chris, foxes by the kiddo. 🦊 https://givebutter.com/c/artbeats-soiree-art-auction-copy-y0bfjb/auction
