A special weekend in Zion, catching up with so many old friends and familiar faces at Red Bull Rampage.

After being away for so many years, it felt especially special to be back and see how far this new generation of riders has pushed and evolved the sport. Mother Nature had other plans, and the riding didn’t go ahead—but bringing everyone together to celebrate 25 years of progression made it an incredible event all the same.

It was great to see so many of you, and I’m sorry I missed others. It’s always a hectic weekend, with so much happening around the riders and the broadcast. Thanks to everyone who continues to make these events happen.

17 yrs SOBER TODAY from the booze and hard drugs that were killing me. I am very thankful to be happy and alive and grateful for my family, friends and fans out there in the world. I am trying my hardest to be a good person and to make the world a better place. I want to work hard and play hard, inspire others and be inspired to live life to the fullest. I drank alcohol like the average Canadian kid in my teens but didn’t try narcotics til my 30’s as I was a sporty, outdoorsy dude. It took me down fast. I have always been an all or nothing kind of person and have a very addictive personality. Once I fully came to terms with this I decided to be addicted to looking after my loved ones, and to shred and enjoy nature, and share that love with others. It is a better life. Fight for the light and never give up hope on yourself or anyone you care about that might be in a dark spot. Thank you to many people for helping me get sober especially my mom and dad, my wife @sarahfentontippie, daughters @jesstippie and @alixtippieart. I also couldn’t have done it without help from @westerlunddirect @dberrecloth @jordielunn @greg__salmon @victorberesford_realtor @neilsinclair365 @247petecreighton and my buddy @baker_bikes for letting me talk it all out of my system! Haven’t done one of these then and now posts, but had a good hang with someone wise beyond his years tonight @squamishdirtjumps . It will get yah thinking. Getting paid to build trails has many different looks and as time goes on we are just grateful to still be out in the woods getting after it. Thanks to the @freeride_ent for the best times and thanks to the quality crew at Metro Van for helping us keep the dream alive.
