ELITE IMPACT BARBELL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - FIRST, CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SENIOR FOOTBALL PLAYERS! Before highlighting this week’s outstanding performances, I want to take a moment to congratulate all of our senior football players on their outstanding regular seasons! I was fortunate enough to attend every one of their Senior Nights this year, and I’m extremely thankful I had the opportunity to watch each of them compete! This past week, I made the trip to Britt to watch West Hancock finish its regular season with a hard-fought victory, securing a 6-2 record and the #3 seed! These young men have put in countless hours of work over the years, and it’s been a privilege to be a small part of their journeys. ELITE IMPACT BARBELL – CLASS OF 2027 Football SENIORS 🏈 Michael Gretillat – West Hancock 🏈 Westly Cole – Newman Catholic 🏈 Erick Barranca – West Hancock 🏈 Jameer Falls – Mason City 🏈 Jacoby Subject – West Hancock 🏈 Ozzy Smith – West Hancock Congratulations, gentlemen! Proud of every one of you! - ATHLETIC PERFORMANCES OF THE WEEK - GAIGE TINDALL West Hancock | Sophomore | OL/DT 5 Tackles 2 Sacks 2 Tackles for Loss Another outstanding defensive performance from Gaige! Making his presence felt up front and continuing to develop into a force along the defensive line! - JOE BOEHMER Newman Catholic | C/DT OFFENSE: Helped lead a rushing attack that totaled 438 yards! 8.4 yards per carry 6 rushing touchdowns DEFENSE: Helped anchor a defensive front that held the opposition to just 26 rushing yards on 19 carries! An incredible performance in the trenches on BOTH sides of the football! The offensive and defensive lines don’t always get the recognition they deserve, but performances like this are a huge reason teams win football games! - WESTLY COLE Newman Catholic | Senior | TE/LB THIS WEEK: 3 Receptions 89 Receiving Yards 1 Touchdown CLASS A REGULAR-SEASON LEADER AMONG TIGHT ENDS: Receptions Receiving Yards Receiving Touchdowns What an outstanding regular season for Westly! Leading Class A tight ends in all three major receiving categories is an impressive accomplishment and a testament to the work he’s put in!

@eliteimpactbarbell Athletes of the Week! #3 West Hancock vs. #5 Newman Catholic — what an incredible football game! I’m incredibly fortunate and thankful for the opportunity to work with 14 athletes from West Hancock and Newman Catholic, along with the Newman Catholic strength and conditioning coach. I’ll be honest—I don’t look forward to our EIB athletes competing against each other. Everyone works so hard, and I want to see every one of them succeed. That being said, I couldn’t be more proud of how these athletes competed—and even more proud of how they conducted themselves throughout the week. They trained together, supported each other, and treated one another with the same respect and kindness they show every week. That’s what makes me proud to work with them. The game itself was incredible, coming down to a last-second play. Newman Catholic secured the win with a touchdown with :06 remaining. Both teams showed exactly why they entered the game as Top 5 teams in the state. Key EIB Contributors: Westly Cole — Newman: 7 catches, 93 yards, TD; 12 tackles, TFL, forced fumble JaCoby Subject — West Hancock: 6 carries, 71 yards, TD Isaiah Carson — Newman: Game-winning TD catch; 8 tackles Erick Barranca & Michael Gretillat — West Hancock: Helped lead an offense to 399 rushing yards and 6 TDs Joe Boehmer — Newman: Outstanding game at center, helping produce 369 total yards Ryan Wolf — Newman: Rushing TD; 5 tackles Congratulations to all our athletes! All your goals remain in front of you. Eyes forward. Keep working. Keep improving. Keep competing. Congratulations to both teams on an outstanding football game! Full post on Facebook!
