The last of the pics… and the story is complete ❤️🇵🇹 THE OFFICIALS 📸

I’d dreamed of such an epic finish-line picture, but it all went to pieces 🙈 I was just utterly broken, and that was the last thing on my mind when I crossed the line.

There are certainly things I’d change, and I’ve learnt SO much from this race. Not just about my body, my recovery and what I need to do differently, but also about the mental strength that every Ironman builds. Each one teaches you something new, pushes you beyond what you thought possible and reminds you just how strong you really are. 💪🏼

@ironmanportugal Portugal, you were a journey I’ll never forget. 🇵🇹🏊🏼‍♀️🚴🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

Thank you @ironmanstan76 and the kids who constantly support my crazy journey - my team ❤️

💫Fuel @torqfitness thank you

💫 @veloyelo bike transfer service, Andrew and paddy are the most helpful guys ever and I wouldn’t travel any other way with my bike thank you so much

💫@raceskin - check out their kit, anti chaff and the most comfortable tri suit I’ve ever had

💫@mucoff thank you for my collab and puncture repair kit which thankfully I didn’t need but reassuring to know I had it !

💫@zone3official thank you for my collab and awesome wetsuit

💫@natlawrencecoach thank you for for another year of coaching

💫@westriveasone awesome performance coaching

And just take a moment to admire my beautiful @canyon bike - no collab no sponsor 🙈 defo not good enough for that but what a beaut my little ‘marbs’ is

Behind every finish line is a team of people who help make the impossible feel possible, and I’ve been so lucky to have some absolute legends in my corner this year. ❤️

LONG COURSE WEEKEND… WHAT. A. VIBE. ❤️

Another year, another reminder of why I absolutely love this event. (Although “love” at mile 80 of the bike may have been a slight exaggeration…)

This really is a race for everyone. Whether you’re chasing a podium, your first finish line, or just hoping not to swear too much up the hills.

🌊 The Swim
Calm, beautiful conditions… with a few jellyfish joining us because apparently we needed extra company.
1:12:00
60th female.
Swimming still isn’t my thing… and I only went and made it 4km! 😂

🚴 The Bike
A brand new route. I genuinely didn’t think they could make it harder than last year… but they absolutely proved me wrong.
112 miles.
8,500ft of climbing.
Headwinds
6.45hr ride time
Some absolutely savage climbs, especially in the last 20 miles when every life choice gets questioned.
Somehow managed to ride my way into 8th female.

🏃 The Run
Just a ‘casual’ marathon… with another 2,132ft of climbing because apparently flat roads weren’t available.
Beautiful scenery definitely helped distract from the screaming legs.
3:20 marathon
6th female.

🏁 Overall: 6th Female.

To be sharing the race with some incredible professional athletes was pretty special. Even better when one of them is my amazing coach, friend and occasional drinking partner @natlawrencecoach … who finished 2nd overall! 🍻👏

Huge thank you to everyone out on the course cheering, volunteering and suffering alongside us. Long Course Weekend, you’ve done it again.

Now… where’s the recovery snacks? 🍕🍟🍺

Not every race comes with perfect conditions or perfect confidence. Sometimes it comes with freezing water, head winds, self-doubt and hormones trying to throw chaos into the mix. Perimenopause is no joke — but this weekend proved that resilience, experience and mindset are just as powerful as fitness.

The whole weekend was freezing. Standing watching the sprint wrapped in winter layers in May was not what we’d planned, you knew it was going to be a tough day. The water was icy and the swim was shortened to 1500m — one of those dives where your breath disappears instantly — well, I say dive but it was a bomb 🤣

The bike course was stunning. Fast rolling roads, beautiful scenery, a few rough gravely lanes to keep you honest and forced you to slow right down, and of course a lovely headwind waiting on the way home.

Then onto the run — flat, fast, and honest. The head had its moments especially running into wind, but the crowd support was unreal and carried you through when you needed it most.

A reminder that your brain will sometimes try to convince you that you can’t do hard things… even when your body absolutely can.
