Member Statement - Thursday, Mar. 12, 2026

Educators play an extremely important role in shaping our young people. I believe that arts teachers have an especially powerful ability to help a young person find their voice and their confidence. Westwood Collegiate is lucky to have some incredible and dedicated arts teachers who inspire their students to express themselves, and at such a high level as well.

Introducing GRANT PARK HIGH SCHOOL, MAPLES COLLEGIATE, WESTWOOD COLLEGIATE.

These three high schools are part of our school outreach initiative during the Moving Inspirations Dance Festival. Some of our artists who are performing in the festival will go to these high schools to teach their knowledge and roots of their dance and culture to the new generation of dancers. The teachers will then create a piece for them to be performed in the festival. For Grant Park High School, we have Mikhail “Venom” Morris teaching. For Maples Collegiate, we have Melo Omat teaching. For Westwood Collegiate, we have Vincent Mantose teaching. We are so happy and excited to see all these high school dancers take the stage in our festival. We cannot wait to see what you bring.

The Moving Inspirations Dance Festival Runs from November 6-8, 2025 at the Gas Station Arts Centre. Tickets are available in our bio. Hope to see you there.
