I’m still building out the communities to connect with list! 📋

What local women communities have helped you grow?

Whether it’s faith, fitness, business building, mentoring, or networking - community and connection is so important. I’m not creating something of my own, I’m just collecting all of these amazing female communities for YOU to help you show up and find your people! 👏

Who is missing from the list on my site that has been helpful for your growth personally and/or professionally?

⭐️ Dress up and show up.
⭐️ Live unfiltered and unapologetic.
⭐️ We can and should celebrate each other, not just for the big things but for the little things that happen every day!
⭐️ Don’t let the boogers of the world steal your joy! (My personal favorite 🤩)

These are just a few of the awesome nuggets Shannon Shores shared with the Chesterfield Women Empowering Women group today!

In her talk “Unfiltered & Unapologetic”, Shannon shared about her journey and challenged us all to quit playing small, quit dimming our light, and to find our tribe. It so clearly resonated with everyone in the room.

Thanks to Shannon for sharing your gifts with us and to everyone who joined. Mark your calendars and register to join our October 27th meeting where Jenn Whitmer—Speaker, Author, Joy and Leadership Expert will share about The Audacity of Joyosity. Josephine Alu and I would love to see you there!

YOU are your own best advocate.

That was the message Holly Pyatt brought to the Women Empowering Women National Chesterfield chapter meeting today. She shared her 5 steps for advocating for yourself - whether at work, in personal situations, wherever. And judging from the “ah” moments in the room, it was a message many of us needed to hear.

Mark your calendars to join us next month when Shannon Shores, LCSW joins us to talk about unleashing your authentic self.

💙 Later this month, I'll be sharing a piece of my story that has changed the way I advocate for myself.

I'm honored to be speaking at the @wewnational Chesterfield Chapter on "You Are Your Own Best Advocate."

When I first envisioned this presentation, I thought it would mostly be about career growth.

But as I prepared, I realized that some of the most important lessons I've learned about self-advocacy didn't happen in a conference room.

They happened in doctor's offices.

Living with Hashimoto's has taught me to:
💙 Prepare before every appointment.
💙 Know my audience and how to communicate with them.
💙 Ask questions—even when they feel uncomfortable.
💙 Trust my instincts.
💙 Be willing to pivot when something isn't working.

Those lessons have made me a stronger patient, but they've also made me a stronger leader, communicator, wife, mom, and friend.

Whether you're navigating a chronic illness, advocating for a loved one, or simply learning to use your voice, I hope you'll join us.

I'd love to meet you and share what this journey has taught me.

Remember this:

No one knows your body better than you.
No one will advocate for your health more passionately than you.

Your voice matters. ❤️

The world sets us up not to be collaborative. I certainly didn’t grow up in the corporate environment with this kind of support and I did not experience it mostly from women encountered along the way. I’ve really enjoyed being a part of Women Empowering Women recently 🩵👏 There are several chapters in STL and IL. Check it out and see if it’s a good fit for you. It’s freeeeee! 🤗
