I’m incredibly proud and excited to announce my commitment to Farmingdale State College, where I’ll continue my academic and lacrosse career!

To my dad, my very first coach—thank you for teaching me the game and instilling in me a love for the sport. To my mom, my biggest cheerleader—thank you for all the time, travel, dedication, and love you’ve put into helping me chase this dream. I wouldn’t be here without you both.

I’m also grateful for my brother DJ, teammates and friends who encouraged and supported me along the way.

I’m especially grateful to Coach Megna, Coach Carlock, Coach Lollo, Coach Amato, Coach Vic, and Coach Doller for believing in me, challenging me, and helping me grow into the player I am today. Thank you to Coach Chamberlain, Coach Wandle, and the entire FSC coaching staff for seeing my potential and giving me the opportunity to continue my academic and lacrosse career at Farmingdale State College.

I’m so excited for this next chapter and everything that lies ahead. Go Rams! 💚🐏🥍

I gave it all I had.

Thank you Floyd Lacrosse for giving me these memories and bonds over the years that I will hold on to forever. We made history this year and if this was my last season playing the sport I love, I wouldn’t rather do it with anyone else. Forever proud to be a Colonial💚

The regular season leaders are locked in.

🏆 Goals Leader: Luca Lattanzio (Comsewogue) • 70 Goals
🎯 Assists Leader: Gavin O’Brien (Northport) • 61 Assists
🧱 Saves Leader: Owen Whiffen (Port Jefferson) • 272 Saves

These are the FINAL regular season stat rankings for Suffolk County boys lacrosse. Future editions will include both regular season + playoff stats as teams continue their postseason runs.

🚨 COMMITMENT ALERT 🚨

Congratulations to Legacy 2027 Badgers Attackman/Midfielder Ryan Murtha (William Floyd HS) on his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at Saint Michael’s College!

A lefty with good size and a true nose for the cage, Ryan is a constant scoring threat who can impact the game from multiple spots on the field. Whether he’s dodging from up top, working off-ball, or finishing in tight, he plays with confidence and physicality. His versatility as both an attackman and midfielder, combined with his willingness to compete and do the little things, makes him a dangerous all-around weapon.

We’re excited to watch him take this next step with the Purple Knights.

Saint Michael’s 31’

I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to continue my lacrosse journey at Saint Michael’s college

First and foremost I want to thank my family for always being there and supporting me through every step of the way and guiding me to be the best version of myself and a special thanks to my mom for always bringing me everywhere, my favorite road trip partner.

As well as my older siblings Connor and Emily for inspiring me to become better and getting to watch them at the collegiate level and can’t forget my little sister for always coming to everything.

I’d like to especially thank my dad for starting me up in lacrosse and being my first and favorite coach I’ve ever had.

Next I’d like to thank all of my coaches at William Floyd Coach Megna, Coach Carlock, and Coach Lollo. I’d also like to thank all my coaches through out my career Coach Licata, Coach Pugal, Coach Amato, Coach Olivero, Coach Riley and Coach Calabria I’m glad I got to be coached by each and every one of you. As well as all of the wonderful teammates I’ve had a long the way❤️.

Lastly I would like to thank Coach Smith and Coach Johnson for giving me this great opportunity.

With a man-up advantage in the first quarter, Floyd’s Marc Pluchino surged forward before ripping a shot to score his second goal of the game, minutes after recording his first.

He roared loud enough to be heard on the sideline: “You need three!”

Three what? Three defenders, and Pluchino played well enough against South Fork to justify his claim. He finished with four goals and three assists, both game highs, to lift Floyd to a 12-8 home win in Suffolk’s Division I.
