You always need the 8 essentials when it comes to going to a writer’s retreat…ESPECIALLY when it’s the @youngwritercommunity retreat.
1. Friends to go and hang out with 💖 @shilohnoelleauthor @naia_pierce @whatjowrites @shroomsandvrooms @meehanew and Honora 💝
2. Notebook to got those important things or doodles📒
3. Pen to write and draw said doodles🖊️
4. Lip Balm to always keep those lips moist💄
5. Clothespins 🧷
6. Keychain for the aesthetics ✨
7. Wallet to pay for the fun things like books and souvenirs 💳
8. The Purse/Bag to carry it all 🤭

God has blessed me with the opportunity to meet so many of my online friends in person, making the Retreat one, if not the BEST, week I’ve had in the year! 🙌🏻

✨️Young Writer's Workshop Conference 2026 ✨️

Saying I learned a lot couldn't be more true. I listened in on incredible key note speakers, talked to amazing authors, and sat in peace within the mountains of North Carolina.

The center was beautiful (Ridgecrest Conference Center). Everywhere you looked you could catch a glimpse of the mountains. Even though it rained every day, it made free time reading and coffee shop visits so cozy.

Thank you to all of the wonderful staff, instructors, volunteers, and faculty that put together this confrence retreat. I know it couldn't have worked without you.

To the pin wars, fire alarm incident, and the kind people I met and talked with along the way; the week was certainly an adventure.

Thank you to the instructors. Thank you to Mr. Brett Harris and Mrs. Kara Swanson-Matsumoto. Thank you to Jaquelle Ferris and Josiah Degraaf.

Thank you to the staff. Thank you @abilynvossauthor and @authorsarinalouise . (You guys are so welcoming and kind). Thank you @rebeccawashburnwriter, it was so lovely to meet you.

Thank you to fellow YDubers: @faded.pages.books, I loved meeting you! @trishasparrow.author and @whatjowrites it was so nice meeting you guys as well.

[And thank you to others whom aren't shown for privacy-it was lovely meeting you]
