A Rhode Island skincare brand just landed in British Vogue 🧼✨ Herbs & Mylk, the natural soap and skincare shop out of North Kingstown, was featured in British Vogue. The brand run by owner Jeanette Mollis makes handcrafted soaps and lotions from plant oils infused with herbs, organic butters, clay, and local milk. 😮 The brand started when Jeanette made her own soap while her son recovered from a serious illness, and the business now gives back to families going through the same thing. 👏 From Ten Rod Road to British Vogue. Part of Central Falls used to be called Chocolateville. 🍫 From the 1780s into the 1820s, a mill on a bend of the Blackstone River, near what's now Roosevelt Avenue, made chocolate, and the neighborhood around it took the name. It was also known as the Chocolate Mills Settlement. According to the National Park Service, the smell of roasting cocoa beans filled the air along that stretch of the river. The mill's long gone, the name's gone, but for about 40 years, it was Chocolateville. Rhode Island has a pro football team again: the Rhode Island Breakers. 🌊 Unveiled yesterday at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket. Named for the relentless waves crashing against Rhode Island's rocky shores, and carrying on a legacy that goes back to the Providence Steam Roller's 1928 NFL championship. The logo: an interlocking "RI" with a lighthouse as the "I," its lamp lit.
