After connecting online, Srinivas was eager to meet Nitika, who was in Bombay for a short work stint from Delhi. When he learned she needed something delivered from Delhi to Bombay, he immediately volunteered, secretly hoping it would finally give them a reason to meet. Their first date almost didn’t happen. Nitika got caught up with work and arrived an hour late, only for both of them to abandon their rooftop dinner plans and walk into a loud club instead.

Ironically, they could barely hear each other over the music. But on the dance floor, something clicked. For two carefree hours, they danced like nobody was watching. When Srinivas recreated the iconic Chaiyya Chaiyya step without a hint of hesitation, Nitika was amazed. “I loved how comfortable he was being himself,” she recalls.

What followed was a whirlwind of weekends together. Salsa workshops they barely knew how to attend, moonlit beach walks, spontaneous treks, airport pickups, and conversations that stretched through sleepless nights. On a trek near Raigad, they spent almost twenty-four hours talking about everything under the sun, realizing how naturally they fit into each other’s worlds.

Before Nitika left for Canada for a month, Srinivas planned a day around everything she loved. From watching DDLJ at Maratha Mandir to chasing sunsets by the sea, every detail reflected how closely he had listened. “He remembered the little things I had mentioned only once. That’s when I knew this was different,” says Nitika.

Soon came long-distance, virtual dates, and a promise to see if their bond could survive distance. It did. The tougher challenge was convincing Nitika’s family. For a year, they patiently chose understanding over rebellion, determined to earn everyone’s blessings.

Their patience paid off. After their roka in January 2025, they married on 8 October 2025, proving that some love stories are worth every wait. Looking back, it feels as though every detour was part of a beautiful plan guiding them toward the forever they were always meant to find. #unabashedemotions #lovestory
