Trying for a baby is already a whole new world… and then you start seeing the acronyms 🤯

Here’s how I felt about a few of my go-tos (TTC, TWW), and a few others you will never see me use!!!

These are often used on forums and social media. It’s a minefield out there - you’ve been warned.

📖🤨 Glossary for the uninitiated:
TTC = trying to conceive
TWW = two week wait, aka the time between ovulation / embryo transfer and either getting your period or a positive test
AF = Aunt Flo, aka your PERIOD
BFP = big fat positive, aka a positive pregnancy test
EWCM = egg white cervical mucus, aka the clear, stretchy cervical mucus you typically get around your fertile window

Any favourite or least favourite acronyms you’ve come across? Pop them below 👇

POV: you’re in your two week wait and have lost all sense of reason 🤪

Please tell me it’s not just me…?

Half way through this one. Let the intrusive thoughts commence 😂✌️

I’ve decided to ditch my LH strips. Here’s why.

My ✨fertile window✨ is fast-approaching. Normally, this time of the month means starting my day by weeing on a stick.

As some of you have correctly identified, I am a bit of a control freak 😅 Ovulation tests became a small way of feeling on top of TTC.

I have irregular cycles, so at first it felt essential. Maybe even exciting. I’d get a little rush with every solid line or smiley face.

Or a surge of frustration if things were taking longer than usual to get going. Those small strips could really start my day off on a sour note.

But this month, crunch time = a week away from home… a week when we’re on slightly different schedules. And I’ve decided NOT to pack them.

Here’s why:
➡️ I don’t need the extra pressure. If a peak day falls when we’re on opposite sides of the country, it will make me feel 💩.
➡️ I know my other signs. EWCM (if you know, you know), cervix position, mood changes. After 3+ years of tracking, I’m starting to trust my body.
➡️ I’d rather start my day another way. TTC can be all-consuming; it might be nice if weeing on a stick wasn’t the very first thing I thought about.

So I’m curious, what’s your take? Team ovulation strips every time, or team not for me?
