S E P T E M B E R 🍂

September somehow felt like the longest month ever… but in the best way. 🥹

I feel like I really LIVED this month. Spent time with old friends, loved on my current ones, made some new ones, celebrated birthdays, danced at the Chris Brown concert, hit 150 SoulCycle classes, and went back to Disney World for the first time since I was little to celebrate my sister. 🥹🫶🏽

Lots of laughing, lots of going out, lots of saying yes, and just letting myself have FUN.

September was full. My heart was full. Life was good. 🤎

When Skip Day meets FAMU Alumni 🐍🧡💚

LATE POST 🙃

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out and showed love! What once started as a small house party at my home for people coming into town for Be Out Day Atl has continued to grow year after year, and so has your generosity toward the scholars!

I can’t say thank you enough. All the stress, planning, and everything that went into making this year happen was worth it. Seeing everyone come together, have a good time, and most importantly, continue to pour into our each other makes it all worth it.

I’ve always wanted to continue doing something that shows how forever grateful I am to FAMU for the way it changed my life. FAMU gave me so much more than a degree. It gave me experiences, friendships, memories, and a foundation that I carry with me every day.

FOF gave me my first real Atlanta family and I love them real bad.

What started as me wanting to give back has turned into something so much bigger than I could have ever imagined.

Thank you to everyone who has rocked with me from the beginning and continues to show up, support, donate, and believe in the vision. I truly love y’all more than you know!

I love FOF. I love FAMU. And I love what we continue to do.

PS: No alumni base is coming like us, and THAT’S a fact! 🐍🧡💚

As I close out these graduation posts, I keep coming back to one sentiment - I didn’t get here alone.

To my tribe: thank you for carrying me when I couldn’t carry myself. Thank you for the emotional labor, the check-ins, the hours on the phone, the prayers, the laughs, the shared reels, the shoulders to cry on, and yes…the cuddles when I simply didn’t have legs to stand on. From helping me land a job, to moving without any worries, to defending my dissertation, to celebrating this second doctoral degree, you all were there for every milestone. Your love and support didn’t just encourage me, it filled me on days where I was empty - and, quite frankly, kept me seen some days. 🩷

A special thank you to my “baby” brother, Big G, who never misses a beat. You've shown up for some of the biggest moments of my adult life without ever having to be asked. I don't take any part of our relationship for granted. And Daysha, we didn't get a pic, but my face that day was your representation! 😛😘 You two have been the duo I never knew I needed.

And to everyone who called, texted, prayed, celebrated, reposted, and loved me from near and far, thank you. I will never forget how deeply held I felt during this season. God has been so faithful, and He surrounded me with the very best people. For that, I am forever grateful.
