Earlier this month, we joined researchers, advocates, and legislators at the Massachusetts State House for Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day, where we were honored to accept a proclamation signed by Governor Maura Healey.

Thank you to Massachusetts Walks Again and @sciboston for convening the community, and to the offices of Senator Michael Brady and Governor Healey, along with State Representative David Biele for keeping the needs of individuals and families affected by spinal cord injury on the Commonwealth's agenda.

Spaulding Community Access Day 2026 was so fun, weather was perfect! Huge thank you to all the great organizations supporting our community!

So much Information about available grants, equipment options, and community access programs. Was able to test adaptive equipment and demo cutting edge assistive technology.

Super fun Wheelchair Skills Class with old and some new friends. Had a couple crashes without injuries.🤨🤣

Perfect day for networking with fellow wheelchair users, caregivers, and adaptive athletes.

Big thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors! See you next year.

Spinalcord Injury Awareness Day 2026 at the State House did not disappoint! A collaboration by @sciboston , Massachusetts Walks Again, Senator Michael Brady and other amazing SCI organizations.

Every speaker was a game changing disability advocate, doctor, organization or patient. Very promising electrical stim technology, nerve transplant treatments, clinical trials and support for our community changing lives.

With a spotlight on Thomas P. Kennedy SCI Trust Fund established in 2004 which has awarded over $6 million to local spinal cord injury research.

Pleasure to finally meet John from @thewheellifeofficial . Special shout out Macy and Jesse flying out from New Orleans and west Texas. And see Dr. Brown again.

Another great #SCIAwarenessDay at @fenwaypark is in the books!

What a day yesterday was, and it's always nice to see the Red Sox come away with the win ✅

Thank you to our volunteers, team, and everyone who stopped by the Community Table. We appreciate you showing up despite the rainy start to the day.

Special thanks to @mary.m.cooper.9 for leading the charge again this year, Scott with the @redsox, @redsoxfoundation, and of course, thank you to @sebofam and our friends at @sciboston. We appreciate the community you've built for people living with spinal cord injury 💚💙

Returning to hospital I was helicoptered to after my bike accident. Be careful exiting and entering buildings!♿️ Many times people can’t see you. Or vice versa. This is a 5 ⭐️ Entrance and Exit! And entire hospital is extremely accessible! @dhmcandclinics
