Here at the end of the year, it’s a good time to look over what I’ve done over the past 12 months. I’ve had many great opportunities to explore and have new experiences. Of course I’ve made sure to document those adventures and work on my photography. Here’s my top 20 favorite photos from 2025!

2,700+ miles, 89 hours, three chasers, two funnels, 0 tornadoes.

Last weekend I met up with @white.weather17 and Nick Camp to spend a few days chasing storms out in Oklahoma and surrounding states. Despite some frustrations with environments not cooperating and us missing a few tornadoes by a matter of minutes, it was a fun trip! Dry air aloft hindered us on our first day, May 17. The next day would start rough by missing tornadoes by Arnett, OK, but we still found some amazing structure. This included a pair of LP supercells near Arnett and Fort Supply, OK. The classic barber pole type structure of the mesocyclone we found is very rare to see in the Midwest. Because of a drier environment in the central and southern plains, it is a bit more common to find in Oklahoma. As the sun set we could see a storm blowing up to the northwest of us but didn’t look too much into it. As we drove back to our hotel hours later that tornado would produce a large tornado near Greensburg, KS. May 19th, the final day, featured a high end environment but a messy storm mode derailed our chances. The closest we got to getting a tornado was a brief funnel to the north of Stoneburg, TX. We circled around the Saint Jo area for hours before returning to OKC. Despite the frustrating lack of danger noodles, I’m still looking forward to what chases come next as we head into summer.

I logged a few more chases in the past week and a half. The first was a sneaky tornado risk in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. We saw amazing structure and a tornado on the northern storm near Omaha. Frequent lightning continued after dark but unfortunately we weren’t able to enjoy it as we got stuck in a ditch south of Atlantic. Thanks to fellow chasers Ethan Johnson and Justin Todd we were able to get into a hotel for the night before getting towed out the next morning.
On Tuesday of this week I was returning from TopGolf with my C-group when a lone cell popped up between us and Ames. It surprised me with some low-level structure and an LP base. It dropped large hail on Nevada. An hour and a half after the storm had left I was able to find hailstones of up to 1.5 inches.
The next night, after work, I captured a shelf cloud near Randall and frequent lightning. A busy (and expensive) week, but now it’s time to focus on the threat shaping up for Monday.

I know I'm not the only one that's extremely interested in what this guy has to say about the impending storms this afternoon! (Go check out his YouTube channel WhiteWeather for up to date info!)

Last night was the last home golf meet for these seniors - but I added a junior in here too because he's been consistently placing in meets and he needs a shout out!

Okay, guys, this is one of those seniors who manages to be not only good at everything, but like, REALLY good at everything. Teach himself piano? Check. Rock band? Check. Cool music taste? Check. Listen, this list could go on for a really long time. The point is, keep an eye on this guy - he's definitely going places.
