Every now and then, the Canoe Wild team gets to be on the other side of the adventure 😁

We swapped the usual working day for a staff day out at White Mills, and it turns out a group of paddlers around an inflatable assault course is exactly as competitive and chaotic as you would expect 💙

Week 31/ 33 — The Road to Ironman Barcelona 🏊‍♀️ 🚴 🏃‍♀️ 🇪🇸

WASP 🐝 it all about - long ride saga’s, back in the sea & compression legs drama 🤪

All week I’ve felt nervous, so close to the start line & worrying something was going to happen - well you couldn’t make it up 🤪

The best had to be my long ride 🚴‍♀️🐝
Out in the countryside, nice and easy when boom, a wasp flew in the side of my sunglasses, got trapped & stung my eye lid!! I was trying to pull over, un clip, keep my eye closed, get my glasses off, and get the bugger out … carnage. One red swollen 👀

Post sweaty turbo session, used my compression legs, recovery is key. Didn’t have enough electrolytes - 💥calf cramped up, could release the pressure in the leg - ridiculous! When will I learn 🤷‍♀️ so that put runs on the back burner 🏃🏼‍♀️

On the bright side of life 🎶🎶

🏊 sea swim went well this week. Gentle waters, with the current and found my rhythm & flow. Confidence boosted ✅

🚴‍♀️fun at the track with the Trio then sauna and scrumptious food @whitemills….

♥️ - to finish off. Our anniversary 🥂
Been together so long, we think the same & chose the same cards 🤪😘
Thank you me Joolie for putting up with all my shenanigans ❤️

So now - the 2 week taper.
Volume reduces (less time to injure myself🤪) Intensity stays the same for sessions though (meaning anything could happen🤪risk has not been removed)

📊 The Stats
Picture on the reel 🤪

⏳ 13 days until Race Day
It’s getting closer - next week I fly to Barcelona ✈️🇪🇸🏊🚴‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️❤️

Best trip of a lifetime to every wakeboard park in the UK in under 10 days. I think I have improved more in the last 8 days, then I have in the last 2 months. And I would so do it again next year. #wakebording🏄‍♀️🏝️🌊
