Running a fashion business is not as glamorous as it sounds. 🫠 5 important things that nobody tells you about running a fashion brand/business. 1. You’ll design less than you think and manage more than you’re ready for. Running a brand means you’re a full-time problem solver - chasing suppliers, managing orders, fixing delays. Creativity is just a slice of the pie. 2. Your first drop won’t sell out and that doesn’t mean you failed. Real brands are built, not hyped. Slow sales don’t mean you’re not talented, they mean you’re learning the game. 3. Sampling will test your patience and your pockets. The fabric will be wrong. The fit won’t work. You’ll make the same piece 5 times before it feels right that’s the cost of quality. 4. Not everyone will support you, even the people you thought would. Focus on attracting your real audience, not convincing the wrong one. Your real audience will find you if you keep showing up. 5. You ’ll want to quit… often. The pressure is real. Some days you’ll question everything. But when that one piece finally sells, when someone tags you, when a stranger says “I love this” , it reminds you exactly why you started.
