#東京からこんにちは 🌸
Hello from #tokyo , #japan ! 🇯🇵

Hi everyone! My name is Alice, I’m in my senior year and I’m majoring in Japanese! I’m currently spending my year abroad in Tokyo with CIEE, and I’m excited to take over this account for the next few days to give you a little glimpse into my life here!

Outside of classes, I try my best exploring the city, trying delicious (and cheap) foods, making local friends, and experiencing everyday local life in Japan. Living in Tokyo has given me so many opportunities to step outside my comfort zone, immerse myself in Japanese culture and language, and learn beyond the classroom, including living in host families, joining local communities, etc.

I can’t wait to share some of my favorite moments and experiences with you all. Luckily we caught this in a busy three days in a row of my schedule, so hopefully this will be fun and informative!

Hope you enjoy coming along with me!
little spoilers👀: ☕️🍊🥓📚🍰🍝🍱

˖ . ݁𝜗𝜚. ݁₊cat cafes🐈🐈‍⬛!

while this picture specifically was taken in a regular cat cafe when i visited with my friend for the only time, there are a LOT of 保護猫カフェ(hogoneko-cafe, rescue cat cafe,) which means instead of buying cats of specific breeds, they run the cafe with rescue cats in them.

you might then think, wow, then they must be very hard to approach. well, the following video might just blow ur mind! (swipe→→→)

would you PLEASE look at these babies… can you believe how chill they are?? the one on my lap lost their eyes and tail, but was still so friendly…🥺

there were so many around me, but there were MORE on the other side of the cafe or sleeping in their cages! (they take turns to come out and go in, it’s like part-time shifts)

how many cats can you count in this single video👀?

˖ . ݁𝜗𝜚. ݁₊Yukata👘

浴衣デー(Yukata-day) is a traditional event at my university, Sophia University(上智大学). on this day, students (and some professors, too!) wear these gorgeous yukatas to classes, and some also go to 夏祭り/花火大会(summer/fireworks festival) after school with their friends/partners!

this photo’s credited to my friend, yui, who i also stayed over at their place on the same night! stay overs are also a grea
