TEN YEARS…

“MULTI”…. The first song Kali and I ever created together. We just wanted to make a cool song about “relaxing” haha. Something to chill out and vibe to. Never taking ourselves too seriously. It was the peak of the blog era, Tumblr was the hub of true creatives and a new app called Instagram was starting to take over alongside Twitter. It was the perfect storm for this song/video to go, what we now call, “viral”. A new sound that would become synonymous with and find a home on SoundCloud, also fairly new at the time. This moment undoubtedly changed and influenced a lot of lives, inspiring a whole community of artists and creatives that had never witnessed stardom first hand. Thousands of organic local views over the 2012 Thanksgiving weekend and the rest was history. As a producer and songwriter I had never felt so liberated and supported by the community. So much to unpack behind this moment, so many great stories and memories but I’ll save that for another time. One time for Virginia. Two times for the culture.
