The drop 7th august 2026 This was a top night, with a line up so huge everyone in attendance witnessed some historic moments. Kid hype was given the honour of hosting the evening, he did a good job setting the scene for each act. We had the works this month! Mass appeal opened the show with a DJ set to warm the crowd up. After this the open mic was open for business. The open mic was a busy one with artists taking to the stage with the likes of chimney, OCB, miss Hayes, G-man 777, myself (I tried let's just say that) eternal gloom, Vito and anyone else I didn't mention. There was one artist who got up and rapped in his language and the crowd went mad for it! Big up mass appeal they played some great beats for them to spit on! CCTV took to the stage, these guys came all the way from Scotland to perform and jay-lee was brilliant, the energy he brought was amazing really enjoyed seeing that. He offered artists to come to Scotland for a show, so opportunity there to take the drop on tour! Now the main event, the main man Sean country with his new project, on the stage we heard performances from rai2rai, milson, Sera bless, Sam whitty, Tenchoo and h8ter. There was an array of artist that couldn't make it like kiddo, Nadia kazemi, Melina Greene, cold ironic. That just shows you how stacked this mixtape is! Riskology did a good job on the decks wheeling up when the crowd was feeling it, which happened a lot! Every track is amazing but there are a few in there that are just iconic, instant hits with massive energy! I need to point out a moment I was blown away by, tenchoos verse! This guy is a machine, his verse was all about garden and the first mention is pure genius “Madison square garden of eden” from there your stood there like…….how!! As he rolls off everything you can think of to do with garden! Sean country never disappoints, bringing artists together showcasing himself and his art while giving artists a platform to showcase themselves, and that deserves the upmost respect! Nights at the drop never disappoint, the home of homegrown hip hop in Southampton! Peace Mac out 👊🏻

Finally cleared the memory cards from last month to give you some more clips from the show. 📁 High-grade movement from @rai_2_rai and @whittyworld at The Brook. It’s one thing to support a legend like Dike, but another to hold down your home turf with that much composure. Soton’s finest showing exactly why they’re in the conversation. ⚓️🔥 Big up @scountry8 for being the whole crew in.

19th February 2026 The Brook Southampton The drop showcase This night was a big deal for the local scene in hip hop music. This venue is one of the pillars of great music and to have this venue house such an event is amazing. The night started with a little preshow from dole Gallagher, hayzdayz, whoopi goldbarzz, jay Elliot and scouserphrenic Every one laid down some sick bars, the only one of them I'd never seen before was scouserphrenic. His flows were incredible filling those beats right up, was amazing to see! After them was the incredible Sera bless, when she performed she used the whole stage with confidence. Sera is a breath of fresh air to the rap scene with her different styles. Her performance of ‘silly man’ was full of energy and commanded the room! (Fair to say it was popular with the females) Next, in my opinion was the highlight of the night, the Sean country collective! This was a preview show for the upcoming double album called ‘the double pill’ In previous releases it was predominantly Forbes, Sam whitty rai2rai and milson. This release has so many artists on it and it's going to be one of country's best work to date! We saw not even half of the project, 2 songs really stood out to me which were ‘gelato and lobster’ Collectively, what we did see though was crazy From the staples of the group rai2rai, Sam whitty and milson to Sera bless, Nadia kazemi, Melina Greene, kiddo, cold iconic and zulu T! talented artists collaborating together, strength in numbers!

Rai2rai’s verse is about believing in yourself, however the rap is giving you a vision of the thought you go through when your trying to find that belief. “How long til I Pick out the pieces I wanna believe in How long til I Piece it together So i can just see it How long til I See the picture The way I perceive it Are we proceeding How long , how long” The second part of his verse is about the state of the music industry, sending demos and waiting for a response. One line that stands out is this “I be on my own terms I ain't waiting in line For the top to take a turn” This is such a poignant point to make saying I don't want to be second best or second choice when what you have fails! Sam Whitty's verse is about portraying the dreams or nightmares artists would have about making it as an artist and having to deal with rejection and bad criticism on your work. I like that the beat darkens in texture to fit the vision! “I'm intrigued by dreams That drip feed A scene by means Of an obscene I scream nightmare And fairy tales That are ready To sell the real deal And feel pill ill with still consist The frights bare I'm liquidising And mortalizing The solid form And sprits turn to vapour If more decided To godly forms The energy we harness Aint far fetched We can open doors With dreams that aren't dark” The verse draws you in to a nightmare in your dreams fretting about where you go in life however the last few lines is like waking up and knowing what to do! This track is amazing when you break it down and see what's really there Peace Mac out 👊🏻
