Meet Our Teachers: Jade Roche 🎤🎹

Jade graduated from BIMM in 2020 with a B.A. (Hons) in Modern Commercial Music (Vocals). A student of music since the age of four, she spent ten years at the Billie Barry Stage School before continuing her studies in piano and vocals.

With her artist project Pastiche (@whoispastiche ), she has performed at venues including the 3Olympia, The Academy and Whelan’s, as well as international festivals Primavera Pro in Barcelona and Iceland Airwaves.

🎶 The music featured in this post is Jade’s own - released under her artist name, Pastiche. Have a listen!

Her love of writing and performing is matched by her love of teaching. With over seven years of teaching experience, Jade teaches vocals and piano and has developed and delivered pre-music courses in Dublin.

She has also undertaken professional development in Science Informed Vocology with Prof. Lynn Helding. She continually develops her teaching practice to help students progress on their vocal and piano journeys.

Showing up today took everything in my tank.

I captured these moments, but when it came to stepping up to speak, I froze. Hearing story after story of systemic failure hit way too close to home - especially while being on medical leave and fighting my own battle for basic workplace accommodations right now. Empathy fatigue and burnout are so real.

Part of me feels like I should have pushed through and spoken anyway; but showing up, bearing witness, and documenting the crowd matters too. To everyone who spoke today: thank you for carrying the mic when some of us couldn't find the words. 💛

The conversation around endometriosis has changed.

That’s progress.

But now we need to move from announcements to implementation.

Women deserve clear timelines, measurable outcomes and accountability.

For the first time in a long time, I believe we’re asking the right questions.

Now let’s start measuring the answers.

Sessions From Oblivion wrapped 💪🏾

When I was asked to be a part of @oblivionsession as a contributor last year for their tips & tricks section, I never would have imagined that I would eventually take over as the new host & become more involved with this amazing series through The New Music Show.

From witnessing rising independent stars in the making in @whelanslive in Dublin to travelling up to Galway for a wild gig in @roisindubhpub , every moment has been a learning curve and has helped me grow as a presenter & my love for the beautiful music that comes from this country and beyond.

Big up all the artists and industry professionals I had the privilege of speaking to during the making of this years series & a special thank you to @lesleypckane @andrew.bass.5 & @toofeckinmuch for trusting me with the new role & our behind the scenes team that made the impossible possible.

All 10 “Sessions From Oblivion” episodes can be found on the @rte2fm YouTube page. Have a watch & support our homegrown rising heroes.

We thank God for the opportunity ❤️

Another personal win that I’m blessed to experience and still hungry for more. It’s become more than just a show. It’s become my purpose & I’m privileged to have people support & invest in my dream.

Thank you for being a part of the ride. Thank you to the music artists for trusting me with their music & sparing time for a conversation. Thank you to every individual that works in the music industry no matter what role it is, you’ve helped me elevate my game. Thank you to my peers in the radio world, I’m inspired everyday. Thank you to the listeners for accepting this young Angolan boy on your little radio.

Jobs not finished, we go again.
Peace & Love, Love & Peace ❤️
