Axefield returns to the Spectral bill this Saturday on the Mighty Dread Warrior Machine soundsystem at Noordspace!

Dutch producer, DJ, live performer, and composer, Axefield sculpts his signature blend of UK bass and electronica, driven by a wild obsession with romantic cinema.

From his Amsterdam studio, he crafts narrative-driven electronic music informed by film and architecture. Through his labels Who’s Susan and Intercept, he cultivates communities of sonic storytellers and cultural innovators.

His work has earned support from Ben UFO, Caribou, BBC 1Xtra, and Mixmag, and continues to move between club systems, art spaces, and cinematic contexts worldwide.

Numéro Netherlands presents today ‘A Wave Between Springs,’ an exclusive editorial from our Amsterdam issue.
Amsterdam is a city shaped by movement — of people, of stories, of time. Within these shifting tides is the quiet resilience of the Vietnamese community: not loud, not always visible, but deeply rooted. Many arrived by boat, part of a wave of refugees who crossed oceans carrying both loss and hope. That wave didn’t end there — it continues through new generations, shaping how they create, remember, and belong.
“Tôi là con sóng giữa nguồn” — “I am the wave between springs.”
A reference to Xuân Quỳnh’s poem Sóng, where wave and source become metaphors for emotion and origin — always in motion, always returning.
