Tonight!

Drawn to the sonic genre-blending of scenecore, yet repelled by its subculture, Proxoxie eclipsed her identity with uncanny personas inspired by the true crime, internet horror, and fanfiction she blogs about, finding not just escape from a toxic community, but agency in the vengeful victim to cold-case criminal narrative.

whoTF are a duo consisting of Folie and AAAYYYAAA.

Programmed around early internet culture and life online, V1R1S augments and morphs together mutual chaos of anxiety inducing atmospheres, nightcore bubble gum melodies, and computerized vocals, to create her own new world of ‘cyberpop’.

Winnie Wanders began learning Ableton in 2019 through YouTube videos and trial and error, and went on to release three albums which were independently recorded, mixed and mastered. Year 0001 (Yung Lean’s label) features her track “All Summer” on their Spotify playlist (click here). With some exciting releases planned for 2024, she’s hoping to get her in-your-face pop songs stuck in everybody’s head.

FRI 06.28 — ALTER EGO NIGHT: FROST CHILDREN, WHOTF, JESS11

9pm-2am 21+

🔎

Frost Children as… DJ Woe B2B DJ Hoes Mad
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, siblings Angel and Lulu Prost grew up listening to the larger-than-life sounds of big room DJs and emo heavyweights of the early 2000s, influenced by their older brother’s dubstep collection as well as going to see acts like Virtual Riot at an outdoor amphitheater in their hometown. Sending each other stems over voice notes between NYC and Nashville, they decamped back to St. Louis during the pandemic where they began to amass a discography of hyperactive sounds. On the date of the party, they will be just returning from a live performance tour of Europe for their albums “Speed Run” and “Hearth Room” and a string of DJ Sets with Dorian Electra, Club Cringe, and Hypercore Collective.

whoTF (folie x aaayyyaaa) as… DJ TUBI B2B DJ Freevee
The duo met in Chicago in 2021, and immediately sparked a tantalizing collaboration. Folie, known for her pop experimentalism and hyper-loud expression, has released on Dylan Brady’s Dog Show Records and collaborated with the likes of Gupi and Alice Longyu Gao. Forget Basement’s expansive body of work traverses musical landscapes from art-pop peaks to dark industrial wastelands. The fusion of their sounds—described as “whimsically intense,” by the Chicago Reader—culminates in their debut project LIFE OF US.

jess11 as… dj swət
jess11 has been working in venues in Chicago since 2021 and making music for longer. She started her musical journey singing with bands on Ohio hometown stages and began making electronic music after moving to Chicago for school. She immersed herself in the dance music community by working sound and artist
hospitality right here at Podlasie Club and has absorbed myriad musical influences over the past year. She loves to mix disparate sounds and genres, with an emphasis on music from the queer internet music culture that brought her to music making in the first place.
