Cam words can't express how proud we are of you as you cap off another amazing lacrosse season. Regardless of all the awards above including breaking the all time caused turnover mark, your presence on the field, in the locker room, and in the classroom is what is most impressive to me. Your always present, always asking what you can do for the team, always first to arrive and last to leave, always leading the youngest to oldest players, that's the legacy you have left at Wakefield! As a back to back most valuable player/teamate award winner, the most special recognition this year was to hear your coaches say that they talk to their young players/kids about all your intangibles (heart, hustle, leadership, teammate, student) and say this is the person you want to emulate in life! This is the best compliment you can ever be awarded. Keep shining bright and being a leader in life no matter what direction the crowd is moving! We love you!

junior year ended a little too soon❤️‍🩹
unfortunately, 4 weeks ago, halfway through the season, I tore my ACL for the second time but on my left knee, and had surgery May 7th. Having to go through this injury again is definitely not what I had planned to happen, but I truly believe God has blessed me with another opportunity to grow not just as an athlete but as a human. This injury gives me the chance to better myself for what’s ahead and I’m super grateful for all my friends and family who are supporting me all the way through. I love this team and thank you Wakefield for a memorable first season as a wolverine😊 #ferdaboys

High school lax is back! 🥍

We missed last year with a knee injury, so seeing both Halle and P out there playing high school together makes this season extra special. It’s been so fun to watch them doing what they love and having SO MUCH fun!

They were shown so much kindness and acceptance joining a new high school team, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the coaches and teammates who welcomed them! Patrick Dickerson

Go Wakefield!!

Today we are recognizing Wakefield High School athletic trainer Brent Dorenkamp.

Dorenkamp attended East Carolina University, where he received a Master's Degree in Athletic Training.

Why does he love athletic training at Wakefield? He enjoys playing a role in a pivotal time of a student-athlete's life, supporting their health and safety. He also said Wakefield's strong community makes it a great place to work.

As National Athletic Training Month continues, please join us in thanking Brent Dorenkamp for his efforts to keep student-athletes safe at Wakefield!
