I love this @ted talk by @yarashahidi so much. This topic is really why I started @whutweshare. As a multidimensional creator, business woman, artist and entrepreneur — I’ve always struggled to answer the question: “what do you do?”….

It’s limiting.
It puts you in a box.
And most poignantly, it limits your soul’s full expression right out the gate by trying to label who you are by rigid disciplines and superfluous titles.

This year, being creative and curious, for me, is all about making room for *all* of my creative gifts, talents and passions—and leaning into being me, Jasmine, first and foremost, before being any other title. I’m excited to see where it takes me. ✨

Jasmine Lamb, founder of Whut We Share and mindfulness meditation instructor, talks about the importance of meditation as a transient and applicable practice, plus the evolution of what that looks like for her. Hear more in Episode 170: Conversations on Care: How to Give a Good Apology and Music for Mindfulness🧘🏾‍♀️

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and joined @Jasmine , @be_facilitative and myself for our IG Live Mindfulness Talk & Sit!

Today we took a deeper look into what it takes to create a safe and "aspirationally" brave space mindfully. What it looks and feels like spiritually, emotionally, physically and how a mindful approach relates to you showing up in your world and the collective world as a whole.

One Contemplation that organically arose from the convo to think about in your own journey into mindfulness:

"Is it possible to transform an unsafe/ non-brave spaces(ie Families, Relationships, Communities) or do you think you should just leave them? "

Give us your thoughts!!

Where are all my unapologetic multitalented, multi-passionate humans? I see you. I am you.

I work in tech. I am also the CEO of a small business. I am an artist. And a certified mindfulness meditation teacher. All in all, I have lived a lot of lives. 😊🔮

Early in my career, I used to be extremely self-conscious about all the things I wanted to be and do. From 9-5s in tech, to side hustles, to side projects, to entrepreneurship—I’ve tried them all. And even still, I felt like I had to choose. Fast forward ten years later into my career and I’ve finally realized that not only is it okay to be a multi-hyphenate creator, entrepreneur, and tech professional, but it’s also my super power. Now, just to be clear, I’m not saying this lifestyle is for everybody or that it’s better than choosing one profession and dedicating everything towards it. (In some ways, I actually envy those who choose one craft and that’s it) But most days, I wouldn’t change my lifestyle for anything else in the world. 🥰

That’s why I created @whutweshare in 2015, for multihyphenate creators everywhere. 🌎 because I strongly believe the future of business and professional success looks extremely multifaceted. And it will be led by multihyphenate creators and dreamers who show up to work and their careers with their full selves.

I love giving myself full permission to explore my many passions. In fact, it’s at the intersection of my various pursuits and passions where I’ve had the most success and impact throughout my career. Everything you try in life teaches you something. And ultimately no matter what sticks, what you’ve learned is never lost—and it all contributes to you showing up more fully and authentically for all that you are meant to be and do, and that is a beautiful thing. 🌎❤️‍🔥🤘🏾

@mnaeldaas @whutweshare Mna, for WhutWeShare. I remember feeling happy and proud to do this job, as everyone involved in the project was of Middle Eastern origin, and that was specifically why they sought out and hired *me*. It was one of the first times that I had worked professionally with a team of all MENA people, and while it was not a huge shoot, it is one I still feel proud of to this very day.

- I am back, habibis and habibtis. Please expect more regular photos + more from me soon.

Our very own founder and CEO @jasminelamb_ was recently named one of Alumni Spotlight’s Top 100 Entrepreneurs of 2022. 🤩

As an alumna of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (@uncchapelhill), Jasmine started Whut We Share in 2017 in New York City with the belief that we as human beings have so much more in common than our differences. And if we can build a marketplace around our community and shared commonalities, we can change the world. 🌎

Whut We Share is for the dreamers who are also doers, the multi-hyphenate creative professionals and artists who don’t want to be boxed in to one title or one passion. Everything we do and create here is to inspire, support, and equip the multi-hyphenate creators of today and tomorrow, and we’re just getting started!

In just the past 12 months, we’ve put into development two new incubator brands including @blkhealingmatters and @wehome.co (give them both a follow 😉). As a community, a collective, and a company we are so excited and honored to be on this journey together. This is just the beginning. 🌱 #WhutWeShare #ForTheCreators

We’ve got some exciting things in the works for the next evolution of Whut We Share. Our mission has always been to help inspire and equip multihyphenate humans everywhere. And we are keeping that top of mind every step we take. Intention first. Then, create. 📐✨ #whutweshare #forthecreators

Self-care is often put in a box—one that looks like bubble baths, candles, face masks, and all that glitters in between. And while those rituals are great ways to love on yourself, radical self-care is really about choosing to tune in to the places that scare us (our shadows, trauma, triggers, shame etc.) and begin the journey to healing. It’s certainly not easy, it takes work and true commitment, and many of us think we have to go through that journey alone. But every time we come together as a community, I’m reminded of all the synchronicities & commonalities between us, that make up this wild, crazy, beautiful thing we call the human experience.

We are all so connected.

And often times, feelings of suffering, sadness, depression, anxiety, etc. are easily amplified when we feel alone—even if we’re surrounded by people every day. If loneliness is something we all experience from time to time, why is there so much shame around naming it? And how can we adjust our relationship with loneliness, and begin to see it as a catalyst for the next evolution of coming home to ourselves?

Join @norarahimian and our founder @jasminelamb_ tomorrow at 10AM PST as we dive into the many layers that make up loneliness, meditate together, and share our personal experiences in a safe and sacred space. This is an opportunity to kick off your weekend with intention, self-compassion, and some warm-hearted community. I can assure you this is not your average Zoom function. Tell a friend. Link in bio.

(p.s. we believe healing & wellness should be accessible, so if purchasing a ticket is a barrier for you, it’s no big deal. please message us directly 💓) #BlkHealingMatters
