but, i still do coke
and candy.

midday thinking found me inside a melatonin-induced illusion. dessert: an extra magnesium gummy. occasionally creating a lucid dream. i sleep had a really large party. (as per standard living.) this one varied specifically. drinking didn’t count that day, so drink i did.

was the dream, sweet?

in the past 12 years and one day, i’ve gone from careless to carefree. (although i much enjoy controlling “creative bobs” a bit.) no longer having to puzzle together my mornings after midnights is refreshing. i’ve gone from enjoying moments, to absolutely enjoying life.

as the decisions i tend to make are poor, the better was suggested for me. a gentle-friend’s mouth over deep house and his mild sober experience and a sentence that shifted my impressionable reality.

“you probably shouldn’t drink.”

so, i stole his idea. as great artists do.
and, i didn’t. anymore.
drink.

the decision was not mine, but chance in choice consumes me daily. my experience with the universe shapes in different forms, often in the breeze after i’ve climbed something bigger than me. endlessly forgetting and relearning daily. (trying to eat sprinkles in moderation can’t be taught to a girl like me.)

oh, and that dream i was telling you about before i changed lanes, without the blinker again: turned, as i was driving us to get nuggets and things at micky d’s. over-ordered and returned to the kitchen counter after sobering up with a hot n spicy, surrounded by remnants of donna summer and filler friends while the gatsby mounds of confetti were swept, the drape, pulled back.
i turned to frank and said.
“i really liked to drink.”
between french fries he replied.
“and you always will.”
— a dozen years? weird.

like mother, like… — a collection of underrated b roll footage, that is candidly, them. (the reason i’m dressed last and occasionally cancel plans.) not your average “mothers” and i am proud they are exactly that.
