“I know where every penny is in my entire portfolio of businesses.”

This week’s CEO Meet Cute is with one of the most beloved women on the internet @lorna !!! Lorna is one of the most trusted and authentic voices online. You know her as Lorna Luxe, but I wanted to show you Lorna the founder, the CEO, the businesswoman.

Every business she’s built started with her community and what they asked for. @no98beauty began with her own hair (hello, Zendaya!) and is now heading into skincare and to America. @l_a_s_lifestyle, her “mood board come to life”, exists because if she can’t find it on the high street, she makes it herself.

This year she also took back the financial reins, and she’s doing it with gusto, as she reframes her story.

Lorna, watching your honesty and bravery has been so empowering for so many of us, me included. It was such a joy to talk with you, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for L.A-S and No.98 🖤

“Negotiate on scope, not just salary”

Today’s CEO Meet Cute is with Kirsty Glenne, CEO of Antler House of Brands, the group behind three travel brands across three continents: British brand @antlerofficial, US brand @paravelofficial and Australian brand @nere.travel.

@kirstyglenne took the reins of Antler when the business was in administration and had no plan or pathway. She brought her ten years in luxury fashion with her, including seven at Alexander McQueen, and used it to rebuild the brand around how customers feel, not just what they buy.

She speaks on learning from other CEOs, designing a brand with a clear point of view, and why you should avoid auditioning for the job you’re already doing.

We also got a look at the new Icon Drawstring Backpack, four years in the making, designed for the girl who won’t use a backpack (like herself).

It was such a pleasure to interview you Kirsty, and thank you for having us in your gorgeous store. I can’t wait to get my hands on that backpack! 🧳

This week’s CEO Meet Cute needs no introduction. I’m joined by beauty industry powerhouse and founder of @saiebeauty, Laney Crowell.

@laney founded Saie with a vision to make beauty better, building a brand that has become so loved for its thoughtful formulas, considered approach and strong sense of community.

She speaks on the importance of trusting your instincts, building a brand with purpose, surrounding yourself with “expanders” and not overthinking every decision - a reminder to stay close to your vision and keep moving forward with a clear point of view.

Laney is in London to celebrate the brand’s launch into Sephora and it was such a pleasure to meet 💋

Women who hero women are really just the best aren’t they!!!!!! My wonderful wonderful wonderful friend @rosiefortescue has gone out of her way to lift me up since the minute I met her, next expecting anything in return. When we talked about my @whynotceoyourself book launch campaign plans, she instantly said, let’s do a collaborative event with @wildforwords and bring together interesting women who genuinely love reading.

Yesterday was that thought realised.

In the company of incredible women in business who we love and cherish, we celebrate at the one and only @saleepepelondon ~ taking our time to each have a moment to talk about where we are at, and how we can help each other get where we want to go.

It felt like a Birthday dinner, not a work event. It was so intimate and wonderful.

Thank you so much to you Rosie, to the Sale e Pepe team and to everyone who continues to support this iteration of my life. I feel so indebted. 📕📕📕📕🔖

I cannot begin to tell you how much it lights me up to see, speak to and share with you women in their power, taking on the world and making it happen!!!!

As you know, I had the honour of chairing a panel of inspiring women at my bookshop for my community. Women who have built incredible businesses, achieved extraordinary things and continue to redefine what is possible.

Here is a little glimpse into their wisdom for you!

Thank you for your generosity, wisdom and invaluable time. What a privilege to share your stories with this community.

The ‘I DID IT’ date 🫶🏽

We loved this idea from our conversation with @hermioneolivia ✨

Set an ‘I DID IT’ date with your best friend, partner or group of friends for December. Then decide what you want to be able to sit around that table and say “I did it” about.

Maybe it’s personal. Maybe it’s professional.
Maybe it’s something you’ve been talking about doing for years.

Set the goal. Put the date in the diary. And spend the next few months moving towards it ✨

And if you didn’t quite get there? It’s not a failure. Talk about what worked, what didn’t, what changed along the way and whether the goal still matters to you. Then use everything you’ve learnt to reflect, pivot and decide what you want to take into the new year.

There’s something powerful about having a moment waiting for you in the calendar where you know you’ll get to say:

“I said I was going to do this… and I did.”

So… who are you doing this with?! Tag them below👇🏼
