Licenses to chill!

I’ve always suffered from terrible seasickness, but this tough girl summoned up all my courage to beat it and finally went on a liveaboard in the Maldives. The first three days were brutal — I threw up nonstop and my throat felt like it was on fire. Luckily, I had the world’s best buddy and crew looking after me. By the fourth day, I was totally back on my feet!

I went bottom fishing with the captain and caught red snapper. In the evenings, we hung out on the deck, listening to music, feeling the breeze and dancing. This morning, I teared up secretly while waving goodbye. We’ve already made plans to meet up in Dahab, be international dive buddies and go kitesurfing together.

I love the ocean, but I cherish the time spent with you all even more. I’m so lucky to have met such genuine, kind and wonderful people.

Come see how vibrant underwater life can be! Whether it’s freediving with the SASC or scuba diving on their own time, our interns spend as much time under the water as they can. 🌊🩵

Hi, I'm Haydon 👋 I'm volunteering with SASC for a few weeks, but my day to day is working full time in the water technology industry. I'm extremely passionate about marine life, scuba diving, and sharks, and I have been keen to work with SASC for years! I've worked across the globe extensively as an engineer - from Antarctica to Europe and the US - and I hope to one day align my technical/management skills with marine and conservation life. One goal: scuba dive every continent (only 2 to go!). I'm beyond excited to be supporting the SASC team and learning more about these incredible animals! Stay sharky 😎🦈.
