Trick or Retreat ROC/RJCC — Junior Men’s Saber
16th Place — William Crawford 💪🤺

Even though you narrowly missed the medal at the very last moment at the first tournament of the season, I’m proud of you, son, for starting the season this strong. ❤️

It’s incredible to see everything we’ve been working on slowly paying off. And this is only the beginning. 💪🏻

With all of my students, we will continue to work, fight, and put our energy into what we do. The results will come. 🔥

Keep working. Keep pushing. Keep believing.
This is only the beginning. 🤺🔥

Congratulations to my student, William, on earning a spot on the USA Fencing All-Academic 1st Team and the USA Fencing All-American 2nd Team, while also receiving an Essay Contest Honorable Mention! 💪🏆

The intense focus and discipline you dedicate to refining your technical skills on the piste are the very same foundations of your academic success. By channeling your pursuit of excellence in fencing into your studies, you have truly defined what it means to be a 'student-athlete.' I am incredibly proud of your achievements. Your perseverance, which is undoubtedly your greatest strength, will carry you to success in every endeavor. To many more achievements together🙏

Cleaning out the car for the final time. Turns out I've been driving around with past pieces of myself and my family. A Tom Tom, a paper map, bits of childhood, car seat manual and clip thingy I never knew what to do with but knew i shouldn't throw out, and yes - an unused Lansinoh bag. Just in case. Not shown: 2 bags of trash, 500 pens and pencils, a banana peel so rotten it had turned to wood, tent stakes a child swore he lost on a camping trip, and two bags full of flotsam and jetsom that didn't belong in the car but also has no home in the house. The Odyssey served us well these last 13 years. She's pretty beaten down though. New horizons and wheels incoming on Wednesday.

Sixteen years ago, William made us a family. Today it feels like the whole world is celebrating - the start of Ramadan, Mardis Gras, a solar eclipse (in Antarctica), and Lunar New Year! Happy 16th birthday William!

Up she goes! Ballet pointe unlocked. To say she is giddy would be an understatement.

I was proud once again today.
Finishing 62nd among 297 athletes and making the top 64 in the Junior Olympics – Junior Men’s Saber category is not just a ranking; it is a reflection of your effort, courage, and character.

William, by defeating strong opponents in this tournament, you once again proved what a resilient and determined competitor you are. The willpower you showed on the strip—fighting until the very last moment without stepping back in difficult situations—is truly admirable.

Your discipline in training every day, your commitment to our plans, and the determination you show to improve yourself prove that these results are no coincidence. Our road is long, our goals are big, and we will continue on this path with the same belief and consistency.

I am proud of you. This is just the beginning 🤺🔥 #fencing #fencinglife #fencingposts #fencingtime #fencingislife
