From Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer to Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakravarthy, and others, injuries have repeatedly disrupted India’s plans.

In this clip, Nikhil discusses whether workload management, recovery, or scheduling could be contributing to the issue—and why it could affect India’s consistency going forward.

Shreyas Iyer or Shubman Gill—who should lead India? 🇮🇳 Nikhil shares why he believes India should stick with Shubman Gill as ODI captain, discusses Shreyas Iyer’s impressive ODI record, and explains why constant changes in leadership may not be the answer.

After today’s defeat to Ireland, is it time for India to test the Vaibhav Sooryavanshi–Abhishek Sharma opening combination? 🇮🇳

Vaibhav was one of the most consistent and explosive batters of IPL 2026, but breaking into India’s playing XI was always going to be difficult with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson already competing at the top of the order.

Following India’s batting collapse in the opening T20I, however, should the team use the next match to give Vaibhav his opportunity?

Abhishek already brings the fear factor at the top. Vaibhav has shown that he can combine explosive hitting with remarkable consistency. Together, they could potentially become one of the most dangerous opening pairs in world cricket.

It would only be one game, and international cricket presents a completely different challenge—but perhaps this is the right moment to see what the partnership could offer.

Is it time to unleash Vaibhav and Abhishek together? 🏏

At first, everyone focused on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s age.

By the end of IPL 2026, the numbers were extraordinary regardless of age.

776 runs at a strike rate of 237. The Orange Cap. Emerging Player. MVP. And the record for the most sixes in a single IPL season.

His numbers against pace were just as remarkable. Full, good length, back of a length or short—almost every option was punished.

Now, after earning his call-up for India’s Ireland tour, the biggest question is whether he will get his opportunity.

Will he be part of the playing XI? Can he carry the same fearless approach onto the international stage? And where do you even bowl to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi?

The opportunity has arrived. Now we wait to see what he does with it. 🇮🇳🏏

Ishan Kishan keeps making his case every time he returns to the international stage. 🇮🇳

With questions around India’s leadership options, should Ishan have been considered for the vice-captaincy?

He has consistently responded with important performances, shown that he can handle pressure, and played with the hunger of someone determined to prove why he belongs in the setup.

Tilak Varma may be the next option if Shreyas Iyer is unavailable—but has Ishan already done enough to deserve a leadership opportunity?

And looking further ahead, could Abhishek Sharma become a future captain? 🏏

Has the IPL tilted too far in favor of batters? 🏏

Smaller boundaries, flatter pitches, improved bats, limited swing and the Impact Player rule have all made huge totals increasingly common.

Scores of 240 and 260 can be entertaining—but when does the imbalance become too much? Bowlers are expected to keep innovating, but they are being given very little room to compete.

As Nikhil puts it: at some point, you might as well replace the bowler with a bowling machine.

Does the IPL need to restore the balance between bat and ball?

Rajat Patidar or Shubman Gill—who was IPL 2026’s best captain? 👀

Wicket Wispers Host Nikhil backed Patidar, highlighting RCB’s role clarity and his ability to calmly lead senior players such as Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood.

I made the case for Shubman Gill. Gujarat relied heavily on Gill and Sai Sudharsan for runs, yet he still led an incomplete batting side all the way to the final.

Patidar managed the more complete team—but did Gill achieve more with less?
