Run to Wine (& WAFFLES)

This week, Run to Wine was joined by the @griddlebakery team who gave our runners more than just wine for motivation - but waffles, too!

🏃🏼‍♀️🍷🧇

Delicious, low-sugar, fibre-packed, no-fuss, freezer-ready waffles that can be enjoyed with all the sweet and savoury toppings - and also paired with wine 🍷

This combo’s going to be hard to beat.

Next Clapham run club drops soon!

PS. You can find Griddle Bakery in Tesco, Morrisons, Iceland, Wholefoods, and Ocado. AND SOON, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s.

🏃‍♀️🍷Run to Wine Pt. 2: Faces, Stories, and Proper Good Wine

From the wetlands to the winery… and what a shift.

After the run around Walthamstow, we headed into @renegadeurbanwinery for the wine side of things. Huge thanks to Warwick for hosting us and of course @theberniebiscuit , who completely stole the show.

What really stayed with me was the labels. Each one shows the eyes of a real person living in the UK. Different backgrounds, different stories, all part of what makes this country what it is. Some Londoners, some from further afield, all just real people. And anyone can actually apply to be on a label, which I think is such a cool idea.

Then it gets even better. They photograph the same people every year. So as the vintages change, so do they. You’re not only following the wine, you’re following people over time as well. It adds a whole different layer when you’re holding the bottle.

We tried six wines:
🍷Bridget – Pigs Nose Pink (Pinot Noir)
🍷Roger – Rondo
🍷Sara – Chardonnay
🍷Calvin – Almost White (Pinot Noir)
🍷Susana – Pinot Noir
🍷Sherika – Light Red

The wines were right up my street. Fresh, a bit different, really easy to drink, and perfect for this time of year. The kind of wines you open without overthinking it, but still end up talking about.

Such a good way to finish the run. Already looking forward to going back and trying more.

Next @run_to_wine_ will be on Sunday 3rd May @denbies_wine_estate see you there 🙌

🏃‍♀️🍷Run to Wine Renegade Winery Pt 1

Katie’s @run_to_wine_ took us to @renegadeurbanwinery yesterday, but as always, we earned the wine first.

An 8km run through the @walthamstowwetlands set the tone. Scenic, calm, and a route that makes you slow down and actually take it in. Canals, narrowboats, tall boats, and those moments where you forget you’re even running.

Katie delivered again. These routes don’t happen by chance. There’s real planning behind them, especially when paths are closed, and it shows every time.

Part one done. ✅

Part two, we step into Renegade Winery with Warwick and get into the wines.

✨ GLAZE OF OUR LIVES ✨

For 10 unforgettable days, our studio transformed into a full-fledged glaze laboratory — beakers, formulas, color charts, and all! Under the brilliant guidance of @ceramicmaterialsworkshop we dove deep into the science (and art!) of ceramic glazes.

From testing, mixing, and firing daily experiments to the “wow” moments — and yes, even the post-firing depressions 💔 — we all became chemists, explorers, and glaze detectives.

Huge thanks to Matt, a true master and showman, and to everyone who joined us on this first-ever glaze adventure at Gaya. Your curiosity, laughter, and trust made this experience pure alchemy.

Here’s to more experiments, more discoveries, and more glaze of our lives! 🧪💫

✨ All about glazes
Kicking off week first of the workshop with none other than @ceramicmaterialsworkshop - master ceramic chemist and a myth-buster, and our fearless glaze guide.

🧪 Indeed we have transformed the studio into a living lab where participants are mixing up chemicals, testing recipes and yes… we do bake every day.

🔥 Fire, flux, and a whole lot of curiosity
