Dolomites on film 🎞️

Panography is a photographic technique in which one picture is assembled from several overlapping photographs, originally used to expand an image’s field of view but has been developed to create more abstract collaged images.

It was picked up by David Hockney in the early 80’s, his work pioneering the technique which was at that time described as ‘joiners’. He explored Cubist ideas about depicting multiple viewpoints and time within a single image, famously using Polaroids and later 35mm prints to create large-scale immersive pieces.
