This one ticks all the boxes! 🌴
A stunning tropical beach, tree swings, shells to collect and a spot of fishing.

Lockhart River is around 45 minutes away for fuel and supplies, and just down the road is a hidden gem—Out of the Blue café, serving delicious fresh seafood.

This one’s a winner!!!!

Not the most glamorous part of life on the road, but someone's gotta do it!

Usually, this is Isaac's job, mostly because he's a bit stronger than me, but I've got no problem emptying our @thetfordaustralia toilet cassette myself.

For us, having a shower and toilet in our camper opens up so many more options when it comes to where we can stay. And it can be pretty handy at road stops with less-than-ideal toilet facilities!

@wikicamps makes finding dump points easy, but a little planning ahead goes a long way.

We know it's not for everyone, and for us it has been rather unpleasant at times due to user error.

We also recommend reading the manual to see what quantities of Aqua Kem & Rinse you need. The advise given to us was 'a capful is plenty'. No. No it is not. We eventually switched to the satchels for ease, don't have to think about it then!

This camp checked off a few firsts for us! Our first QLD free camp, first QLD sunset 🔥 and most excitedly, our first time seeing Brolgas! Such a beautiful bird 😍

We arrived around 3pm and were lucky to snag a spot! She was fuuulll! A very popular spot and we could see why! Peaceful, stunning, no crocs, so much wildlife. A perfect introduction to QLD ✨️

⛺️ CHAMBERS GORGE

Now this is our kind of free camp 🙌🏻

Tucked away in the Northern Flinders Ranges, Chambers Gorge is an absolute beauty!

Even the drive in is pretty special, weaving your way along the riverbed with those spectacular rocky ridges all around you.

There are plenty of camping spots scattered along the way, all with incredible views. And you’re only a short drive or walk from exploring the gorge itself! (Separate post coming)

Just a heads-up, there are no facilities here, so you’ll need to be fully self-sufficient.

Remember take out what you take in.

📍Joseph Banks Conservation Reserve, Seventeen Seventy, QLD, Australia

Another throwback to our time in 1770. A very windy, but stunning walk along the paths and walkways to the lookout. A simple walk with lots to see.
