One of the things I never expected when I started building a business was this part.

The women.

Women I get to learn with, build with, travel with, laugh with—and occasionally stay up way too late with. 😂

Nashville was technically a business trip, but somewhere between the meetings, dinners, walking all over the city and laughing about things that probably weren’t that funny, it became something more.

It reminded me how much women need other women.

Especially in this chapter of life, when we’ve spent so many years being someone’s wife, mom, daughter, grandmother, caregiver—the person who handles things.

There’s something really special about being around women who remind you that you’re still you underneath all those roles.

I started this business because I wanted something I could call my own.

What I didn’t know then was how many incredible women would become part of it.

I came looking for something of my own.
I found community, too.

The older I get, the more I realize how rare it is to find women you can be completely yourself around.

The ones you can laugh too loud with. Be vulnerable with. Show up messy with. The ones who celebrate you, encourage you, and somehow bring out an even better version of you.
🥰And the ones who check on YOU, too. Who reach out first. Who notice when you’ve been quiet. Where friendship doesn’t feel like something you have to constantly chase or carry by yourself.👏🏼👏🏼

I said yes to a wellness community never realizing it would connect me to men and women all over the world who would become some of the most genuine friendships in my life.
🙌🏼No competition. No pretending. No perfectly polished versions of ourselves. People who calm your nervous system can you feel better after you’ve spent time with them!

Just real people, real connection, a whole lot of laughter… and friendships I truly can’t imagine my life without. 💚

Turns out the community was one of the greatest gifts of saying yes.

No one told me that sometimes we don’t lose ourselves all at once.

Sometimes we lose ourselves in motherhood.

Sometimes in marriage.

Sometimes in grief.

Sometimes in caregiving.

And sometimes we simply wake up one day wondering where we went.

I thought I was looking for better health.

What I found was purpose.

I found women who celebrated one another.

I found conversations that filled my cup instead of emptying it.

I found something that challenged me to dream again.

And somewhere in the middle of helping other people, I found pieces of myself I thought were gone forever.

This isn’t about a business for me.

It’s about remembering that your story isn’t over.

You are allowed to begin again at 40.

At 50.

At 60.

You are allowed to change your mind about what the rest of your life gets to look like.

And perhaps the most beautiful thing I’ve learned is this…

Sometimes God doesn’t give us what we asked for.

He gives us back what we lost along the way.

60 🥳

I honestly can’t believe I’m typing that.
When I was younger, 60 seemed old.

Now?
It feels like a gift.

I’ve learned a lot in six decades. Some lessons came easily. Others took me a little longer. 😅

I’ve learned that health matters.
Friendships matter.
Family matters.
Purpose matters.
And taking care of the future version of yourself matters.

Today I’m grateful.
For another birthday.
For another trip around the sun.
For the people who make life richer.

And yes…

Apparently for collagen shots with my friends. 😂

Here’s to the next decade.
I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one. 💛
