I think I’ve found the place I’ll end up one day. ❤️

Sidney by the Sea. 🌊☀️

I’ve spent so many afternoons here, and somehow I never get tired of it. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, finding somewhere good to eat, walking along the waterfront or just wandering through town, Sidney has become one of my absolute favourite places on Vancouver Island.

There’s just something about the pace of life here. Nobody seems to be in a rush, the people are friendly, and every visit reminds me why I love living on the Island.

I genuinely think this is where I’ll end up one day.

If you’re visiting Vancouver Island, PLEASE make time for Sidney. It’s one of those places you really need to experience for yourself.

Until then, I’ll keep finding every excuse to spend an afternoon here. ❤️

Did you know: 15 minutes of listening to bird songs is proven to lower cortisol? We took that seriously and built an entire road trip around it. 🧠🌿

There’s a reason birding is officially taking over outdoor travel in Canada:

📉 Stress Reduction: Studies show listening to bird calls directly lowers cortisol and heart rate.

🎯 Screen Fatigue Fix: Neuroscientists call birding “active mindfulness”. It forces your brain to scan real space, resetting mental focus.

⚡ Dopamine Boost: Logged over 2.8M trips in Canada because tracking species triggers a natural reward response.

And using an RV on your next birding adventure means you don’t just visit the habitat for a few hours. You live inside it. There is nothing quite like opening your RV door to a full dawn chorus, sipping coffee while a warbler hops on a branch three feet from your bed, and letting the wild stay with you all day long.

You don’t need years of experience to get hooked. Just curiosity, a little patience, and a willingness to look up.

If you’re ready to dive in, I put together a complete Birding 101 Guide breaking down my top beginner field tips, gear recommendations, and how to spot birds like a pro.
